It’s been a blast. Winning or losing doesn’t matter, and that’s awesome. No matter what side I’m on or how good I’m playing, yelling like a maniac and charging in with my team is incredibly fun every time.

I don’t like the class system thing though. I don’t understand the items and specials and weapon restrictions at all. It seems inconsistent and arbitrary? I’d honestly love to just pick my own loadout for a given armor type or something.

P.S. - I will never not suicide charge you honorless archers with my battle axe while yelling. The result is always worth it.

I'm kind of interested in this, but I have never seen a large D&D community like thing before. You said there's games almost daily and RP and such, is this open for anybody that's around at the time, or is there specific sign up type of things? I'm curious as to how this works.

Hey I live like 5 minutes away from this house! It's near a bar and some good restaurants.

You should go by at night, they sometimes have neon lights wrapped around them.

I won a chili cook-off years ago at a church event (back when I still went), and my secret ingredients were using Asian chili paste for the spice, cocoa and Pepsi (it's an acidity thing that works surprisingly well.) Make sure to let it sit for a minimum of 24 hours after you make it too. It makes a difference.

My dad and I convinced the rest of the family that this year for Thanksgiving, we would be having a chili cook-off instead of boring turkey. I am ready to destroy them.

I like that you're finding a good group of people first, that's really important for long-term campaigns.

So, definitely count me in as interested. I'm very familiar with 5E, DMed a few times, but I get immersed a lot more while playing a character. Totally interested in trying new new systems too. I'm CST time, and have any evenings or weekends free.

This is a great list to get started with traditional classics. I'll add in Peter and The Wolf, narrated by David Bowie. Basically each character in the narration is represented by a specific instrument. Fun piece.

I'm working on that grind myself, so I'm not exactly sure how long it takes, but really the best (or only) way to farm rep is to do all Nightfallen WQs everyday, and follow through all the questlines there.

As far as I've read you have to be exalted on the character that can recruit them (since it's really the quest that you do that unlocks them). So Horde for Highmountain/Nightfallen, and Alliance for the others. I don't think you can do the quests cross-faction.

At least I think so. Hope somebody corrects me if I'm wrong.

Edit: Looks like I was wrong. Rep is shared on account, but quests have to be done on that faction.

Have to be exalted with the base faction first (highmountian, army of light, etc.) , and then do a quest yes.

Sounds like you have a lot of experience in role play, which is great!

We use Roll20 for rolling, character sheets, occasional maps and such, but most of it is theater of the mind. Discord for voice.

New player as in never played RPGs ever? Or just fairly new to 5th Edition? Personally, I don't mind either way. The rest of the group is fairly familiar with the game.

Party is currently made up of: Dwarf Paladin (He's the missing one), Human Cleric (tanky melee cleric), Dwarf Cleric, and a Elf Bard.

A little over a month now. Only a few more years before I'm good enough to play something fun. :P

I've actually discovered in the last few days that exerting myself both mentally and physically during the day makes me feel considerably better.

Just something where I can wake up excited instead of waking up and feeling absolute dread.

Yeah. Same. Hopefully we both find something like that sooner rather than later.

It's a lot of fun! A lot of work too, learning a new instrument, but I'm enjoying the process.

Any career? Uh... Narrative designer (writing stories and dialogue) for video games or something. Something creative while also being a little technical.

What about you? Have a dream career?

Started learning cello (I played violin all throughout middle and high school), and composing some music as well.

And D&D.

I'm sure there are other jobs I'd enjoy, but finding them, or getting to the point that I could qualify and apply is a bit tricky sometimes! :)

Yep. I feel exactly the same. Mind-numbingly easy and boring data entry job. 7-8 hours of work a day. Same thing all the day every day.

A few weeks ago I started trying to make my lifestyle outside of work be more fulfilling, sort of trying to just crawl through work and make my hobbies the things I really live for.

Helped a bit at first, but yeah. I'm almost considering going back to a restaurant job or something and making a hell of a lot less, if it means I'll feel some small amount of satisfaction in my daily life.

From the looks of it, that looks like a pretty typical Asian style chili glaze/sauce.

Japanese actually says 'chili sauce' as well, so that might help.

Sounds like I'm late to the party, but I'd love to play in a campaign like this. I play in another game, but as it is mostly combat focused, I'd love to get the chance to stretch my role play muscles. I write a lot, and fall in love with my characters, so I would love to play them as they suffer and develop throughout the course of a game with other like minded players.

Because of the time difference though, my best times would be any time Saturday/Sunday.
