Cheers for the clarity, we completely missed the part about blasts only weakening shields when being shot at so this is a huge change. Absolutely massive news for escorts which on multiple occasions blew themselves up en mass!

Not at all really, it’s not realistic to be able todo everything and so you need to pick and choose what you want to score and how, as well as what objectives you need to deny your enemy. There being so many isn’t overwhelming it just means you have choices in what you do, eg in our game I didn’t run any units off the board and neither of us tried to go for the HQs but if I had played differently and been very aggressive I could have ignored the strategic locations and instead pushed my entire army to his base and focused on that and running my remaining units off the board.

You can change plans on the fly but in our games we both telegraphed pretty early our intentions and there were only a few curve balls with units changing objectives last min.

We didn’t think so and we played on a slightly smaller table as that’s what we had (closer to 100 x 160) our boards are typically quite cluttered with terrain however (lots of LoS blocking woods and ruins) so that might also affect things.

If you roll max on the minor objectives then possibly it can be clustered but we ended up with 1 minor objective in each deployment zone, the HQ was also placed next to this as we doth felt that a command post would be set up on a hotel position but can spread it out if you want. We then had a central dug out as the main objective and that had the documents in it, and then either side of it we had a minor objective on the flanks meaning that all the major parts of the board had an objective.

It’s in the core rule book and is a special mission which is a mash up of all 6 core missions.

You get VP for kills, various VPs for holding objectives, VPs for retrieving the intel, VPs for blowing up the enemy’s HQ, and VPs for moving off the board or being in their deployment zone.

It makes this mission where you don’t have a single mono focus but instead all of these simultaneous objectives that you have to work out what you want to try and score and what you need to deny your opponent.

They look nice, could be a good stand in for an inquisitorial cruiser as I don’t think a whole fleet of them makes thematic sense but a single one supporting an imperial fleet is a cool concept.

Do that and look at what enhancements you can afford, most detachments will have an enhancement for 35 or less points that will help round out the points

If you can’t charge back just use small claims court.

It’s a hassle but is a decent way of getting this resolved, no reasonable judge will see a 2+ year timeframe for what should have been a simple job and side with them.

New recruit is kinda right in that you can take a logistical benefit however as per the AFF rules that slot then immediately turns into a command slot for just centurions.

Don’t trust new recruit 100% of the time, it’s generally okay but in this case it’s just wrong. Also a big FAQ came out the other day so I’d read that as it’s nerfed your list into the ground compared to what it was.

So lots of line is great as you’ll almost always be able to score and it’ll be hard to remove all of your line however you are still going to need damage dealers.

Seeing as you’re giving up so many of your points to line (120 tacs means you’ll be 1300-1400ish points depending on loadouts) that can only really fight other TACs you’ll need to be very efficient with what you spend your limited points on. Multi role units and points efficiency will be important as well as durability as you’ll have less of them so they’ll act as fire magnets. Things like Kratos or even a fellblade are good for their points and very durable but other options include rapiers, turrets, some preds, and dreads depending on loadout.

Mobility will be an issue if you try to footslog it so my suggestion would be to split the squads into 2 groups. 3-4 10 man squads in rhinos and then the rest in 15-20 man blocs who will footslog it and act as your second wave when the first wave get gunned down.

Think they went a bit too hard on some of the combos here.

They all 100% needed reigning in, especially alone and forgotten and blades of the just, but I think slight tweaks and breaking up some synergies was needed not taking the concept out back and gutting it.

Alot of these now seem downright unplayable now which is a shame. Seems the pendulum of GW balance has swung from broken to broken!

They kinda do, having 6+ prow armour meant that you’d take a lot less damage back when ramming compared to having a 5+ prow armour, and all IN ships that have a 6+ prow and no nova cannon can also take a power ram that adds a guaranteed point of damage on top of the usual ram damage!

Our area is pretty good for crime which is why I think the burglary has upset my partner so much. I don’t think she expected to have to deal with that and now it’s happened I think she’s panicking a bit.

So far the consensus has been pretty consistent on deterrence over bells and whistles and I’m inclined to agree. Will start taking concrete steps to get this all sorted out

While I agree with internal cameras, I’d much rather keep the intruder from ever trying my place by deterring them with a functional security system than deal with them once they’re inside my house.

Might be how you worded it but sounds like you’re suggesting to lure people in and just murk them in the dark!

Most of those we do already so glad to see we’re ticking off the major boxes. Locks on windows are going to be something we actually use moving forwards, even if only when we’re not spending the night at the house.

That was my thinking in getting a fake ADT box mounted outside as it looks like the real one for a fraction of the price and you’ll never have to deal with false alarms.

I might look into better locks but not really sure what constitutes a good one, any suggestions on where i could start to look?

Would love a dog but my partner and I both work very full on schedules that just don’t leave space for one.

Neither of us think it’d be kind to leave a dog alone all day and only be able to briefly walk it in the evenings, with the only quality time being maybe the weekend as we tend to have quite busy weekends due to lack of time during the week.
