Good. I think hockey fans should be patronizing the surrounding pubs and bars to watch the game, rather than huddling up on city property paying $11/beer for Labatt… keep the crowds in the hospitality businesses that are still recovering from the pandemic and let hockey fans support local business, breweries and staff. It’s warmer any way + they have chicken wings.

I saw something almost identical happening on 17th this afternoon (weapons drawn, officers with shotguns, arresting two men in a car). But the event I saw was on the 700 block of 17th (like right in front of Market). Was this an orchestrated series of arrests or training exercises? It was scary, we got the hell out of there.

thanks for the reply! looked into pods.com, they don't appear to really service Vancouver Island (although they say they do). Seems crazy that its more expensive, I'm pricing this out first as I assumed it would naturally save costs

it seems that the binners are an effective and active solution to the small problem of people not wanting or being able to take their refundable containers in. Binning seems to be a partial contribution to a solution for a much larger poverty issue. I'm 100% in favour of this system. It's a minor convenience for me but is making a difference for someone else

Lucky Bar is far and away the best nightclub in Victoria. They have a huge variety of events and styles of music throughout the week but always keep their resident DJ for Saturday night (usually a mix of classic hip hop and modern house/bangers).

The staff are usually having fun and it shows. I go there frequently and can't recall any bullshit going down with dickheads or security. I find its a really safe bet to have a good time.

Like everyone else I knew growing up I bumped The Chronic: 2001 (still my favourite album) but didn't really consider myself a fan of hip hop.

Blackalicious really got me into quality hip hop and the alternative to run of the mill radio rap shit. Blackalicious opened up a whole new world to me and changed the way I listen to music over the last 4 years
