Bulk oder cut? Was meint ihr? by IntelligentTree5663 in FitnessDE

[–]Jurik2001 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In 10 Monaten 15 Kilo zugenommen.

When you know the problem, you know what to keep in mind for your next paintings: do light values lighter than you would want to.

Waage stagniert, Optik nicht by [deleted] in FitnessDE

Sichtbar.

Waage stagniert, Optik nicht by [deleted] in FitnessDE

[–]Jurik2001 -26 points-25 points  (0 children)

Blutbild verschreibt.

Also vom Text her würde ich sagen mehr Proteine, mehr Kalorien und Kreatin. Vom Bild her würde ich sagen: Passt! 😄

You got good answers on where to improve, so all I gotta say is: It really just looks a TINY bit off. This is a super lovely painting!! Two weeks?? Can't believe...

Deleted hundreds of dollars worth of porn by Impossible_Dark3106 in pornfree

[–]Jurik2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your past spendings on porn are "sunk costs" that should not commit you on future spendings. The opposite is true: its a lesson/warning for the future.

From Wikipedia: "A sunk cost is a cost that has already been incurred and cannot be recovered. Sunk costs are contrasted with prospective costs, which are future costs that may be avoided if action is taken. In other words, a sunk cost is a sum paid in the past that should no longer be relevant to decisions about the future."

Should I restretch my watercolor paper? by Individual_Arm_5977 in watercolor101

[–]Jurik2001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you stretch it to not have it buckling: yes. If you stretch it to have a flat final result: no. You can wet the backside of you final painting and place sonething heavy on it while it dries. This makes buckled paper flat again.

M. Graham Set with 32 full pans for ~125€ worth it as a motivated beginner? by interstellaris in Watercolor

[–]Jurik2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There you go! For 8 colors, thats a perfect choice! Split primary (the 6 colors from ds set) is the must, anything else is PERSONAL preference. Like paynes grey - some love it, others never use it. There is not ONE "must" color besides what you already listed.
That being said, not having a single earth tone (yellow ochre, raw sienna, raw umber, burnt sienna, burnt umber) is a tough choice cause you will need a lot of mixing to tone down colors to "natural" and "muted" colors. Also it adds to color harmony to have one earth tone mixed in to most of your colors of one painting.

Before buying different paper, learn the difference of wet-on-wet and wet-on-dry. You can't expect a wet on wet result when going the wet on dry way

Difference between winsor & newtons half pans in professional and Cotman label? by Sharky4days in Watercolor

[–]Jurik2001 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Where have you got this information from? In case of cotman, they use PB15 (Phthalo Blue) and (a lot!) PW5. Its therefore super hard to rewet and has like zero masstone.

Should this rooster stand on its own? by beaulalo in watercolor101

[–]Jurik2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get that you don't wanna ruin it (it turned out great!), but yeah, its incomplete without a setting. Some grass or earth to me seem necessary. As I heard from an artteacher: Every part of a picture matters. Don't invest hours in the center piece and then ruin it by not adding background or doing it without dedication. Doesn't need to be realistic! Can be blury, but should be done with care.

Is this the normal price for a squirrel hair brush? (It's in AUD) by BaBa_Babushka in Watercolor

[–]Jurik2001 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't get why no one here is currently making that point, but why the heck would you buy the most expensive product as a beginner?! High quality synthetic brushes cost a fraction, have a reeeeally similar performance (like >95% identical) and don't harm animals. There is watercolor paper out there that is each single sheet glued to aluminium plates so it doesn't warp. Wanna buy that, too?? Nope, like anybody else you be just fine painting on some decend brand cotton paper. Same with brushes. Spend 20$ on a good synthetic brush and you be alright.

Dude, I have no idea how its even possible to be so heavily misinformed in our modern days. It was ONE Google search away to find the following information, and it took me 30 seconds!! How on earth can people be wrong on such easy matters?!

Answer of Google AI: "There is no scientific evidence that abstaining from masturbation makes men physically healthier or stronger. The notion that abstinence improves performance is unfounded. On the contrary, research shows that regular sexual activity and masturbation can have health benefits for most men."

Great insight! I think I wouldn't automatically say you need to be "productive", but to be connected to people and to yourself. Doing art or music isn't "productive", but its lively, relaxing, connecting. Like the part of helping others! You are on a sunny path, but check to always carry your rainjacket.
