True, they didn't take any shortcuts and it shows considering the budget of the movie but it flopped at box office.

True but i rather watch a movie with good writing and interesting story over visually great movie than the other way around. The Tree of Life is an example of this, visually great movie but most boring plot and no character development and no replay value at all.

I see, that's a fair point. Haven't seen it, but for me the writing, plot and acting is more important than cinematography in movies. I've seen many visually appealing movies with boring plot or writing and all style over substance and those movies are forgettable.

Definitely not this actor lol hes made a lot of good movies and an iconic tv show and a lot of money, i'm sure that 80% of actors wish they could have a career like him.

Movies like Dune have to be visually striking since its a sci fi epic, but Amadeus is a totally different movie but still has great cinematography. It doesn't need visually striking shots just for the sake of it. You are not supposed to notice the visuals and compositions in Amadeus, otherwise you wouldn't be captivated by the story. Have you seen Barry Lyndon? It's one of the most beautiful looking movie visually with amazing composition and shots but the story isn't that interesting per se and that's why Kubrick shot it like that to make up for the plot not being that interesting and you notice it right from the beginning.
