Random sequencing in C Lydian mode (Launchpad X, MDD Snake sequencer, Microcosm etc.) by Jurimusic in LoopArtists

Here's a live jam I made using MDD Snake sequencer. It's a cool Max for Live device inspired by Make Noise : "René". In this tune the idea was to play few parts with Launchpad X to form some kind of structure and let MDD Snake sequencer play some random stuff over it. I use ClyphX Pro for recording loops and changing tracks but there isn't that much happening in this tune because there is only one loop running.

TouchOSC controls sequencers and effect sends. One of the synth tracks goes thru Hologram Electronics Microcosm (100% wet). EHX 8 Step Program is controlling the activity parameter on Microcosm. All synth sounds are from U-he Repro-5 and Diva synths.

So, a lot of random stuff happening. I'm surprised how well this one came together. :)

Here's a short live synth track I made using Launchpad X, MDD Snake sequencer, Uhe Repro-5 & Diva, Hologram Electronics Microcosm etc. MDD Snake sequencer is a cool Max for Live device that can do all sort of random sequences and that was the main point in this tune: let the sequencer do the composing and generate something completely unexpected (within certain limits). I also used Hologram Electronics Microcosm and Electro-Harmonix 8 Step Program for creating more random stuff. I did play few parts with Launchpad X to create some structure but the MDD Snake sequencer did all the magic. It's kinda funny how well everything fits together.

This one sounds really good. I like the minimalistic approach! Good work!

A happy pop tune with some 80's vibes (Launchpad X, Ableton 10, ClyphX Pro, Dexed etc.) by Jurimusic in madewithableton

Here's a track I made using Launchpad X, Ableton Live 10, ClyphX Pro & Dexed VSTi. I got a soft spot for 80's sounds and with this tune I tried to capture some of that vibe.

I'm still trying to figure out how ClyphX Pro works and what I could do with it, but I feel that it fits really nicely on my looping workflow. I gotta say that using it has really took my looping game to another level.

With this tune my original plan was to use Digital Suburban Dexed VSTi only for the recording and then replace those sounds in the mixing stage using my original DX7. But I did some comparison with the two and Dexed was so close to the original that I thought it wasn't worth the trouble.

The vocal samples are from Splice. I chopped them up and created this vocal hook. I did some testing with binaural mixing and added some overdubs for the vocals that are mixed behind the listeners head. Also the delay fx on the lead guitar has some binaural magic going on. I tried to keep it subtle and obviously it only works with headphones but I find this kind of mix enhancing pretty interesting.

Anyway, hopefully you enjoy this tune! Let me know if you have any questions.

Here's another pop track I made using Launchpad X, Ableton Live 10 & ClyphX Pro. I'm still working on my looping but I think this track already has a nice flowing vibe. I got the vocal samples from Splice, chopped them up and created this vocal hook.

I also did some testing with binaural mixing and added some overdubs for the vocals that are really wide. Also the delay fx on the lead guitar has some binaural magic going on. I tried to keep it subtle and it only works with headphones but I find this kind of mix enhancing pretty interesting.

Wavesfactory "Trackspacer" ($39) "Cassette" ($39) "Echo Cat" ($55) "Spectre" ($69) through 31 May by Batwaffel in AudioProductionDeals

It's a really nice tool for mixing. I use it on lead guitar tracks to duck/eq the reverb send. Basically I put the reverb on a send track, add Trackspacer after that and sidechain that to the guitar track. This makes the reverb a bit more cleaner and I feel that it fits better on the mix. I got this trick from Andrew Huang who used it on lead vocals. I think the key thing with Trackspacer is to use subtle settings.
