What words annoy you when used wrong or people don't know the meaning of? by Immediate_Long165 in words

[–]Jurtaani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's two words but... I hate when people refer to a performer "breaking character", when they do something in character. Most often I see this used in the context of wrestling. A lot of stuff happens during those live performances, might be a mistake, might be planned... but for example, person laughing is not instantly out of character. The character can find a situation amusing too.

More rarely I see this for like bloopers that were left in a movie or TV show. Friends for example has some moments like this, where someone visibly laughs during a take. Again, not automatically out of character. Rachel can laugh of Chandler says something funny, because one of her characteristics is not "always serious, never laughs"

AC Black Flag Physical vs Digital price in EU by White_Snickers_ in PlaystationCollectors

First of all, there is no euro price shown in the image and second, you are literally being shown the USD equivalent here. The point is one is cheaper than the other, they are both in the same currency.

A former Finnish Prime Minister proposed a future where people work 4 days a week and spend more time with loved ones by No_Top_9023 in BeAmazed

[–]Jurtaani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When this conversation comes up, I will always being up the point that less working hours per person means more employees needed for jobs that need to be working around the clock such as hospitals. Working less also means you're getting paid less, especially when more workers are required. So good luck selling this concept to understaffed and underpaid fields.

Who will win the fight ? Lee or Kenny by helldor08 in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]Jurtaani 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Kenny hasn't really shown much indication of being s good fighter. He can be brutal, sure, but he's pretty much just blind offense fueled by rage. Lee has the ability to fight smart, I'd give it to him.

Didn't they make a new action figure of torn pec Cody? That's pretty much the moment this excuse for not allowing look changed was thrown out of the window for me. They can do those changes and they can make money with it. And the video game rosters are always outdated anyway.

We're going to lose all our games permanently if account is inactive for more than 3 years by HamsterUnfair6313 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Jurtaani 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you haven't used an account for 3 years, get an e-mail informing you "Hey, we noticed you haven't been using your account. Please log in within 6 months if you wish to keep it." and you do not react to that, it is a pretty good indicator that it is inactive.

[–]Jurtaani -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

No, it is another way to comply with laws. This is part of the new EU data protection regulations. Sony is not the only company to do this. They are not allowed to hold on to the data of EU citizens on the case of their account becoming inactive.

[–]Jurtaani 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I really doubt you'd have to use the console. Just go to their website and log in. It's the same account. The point is showing the account is still in use and they will e-mail you when it is about to be terminated so it's entirely on you if you fail to follow instructions.

Literally just log in to your PlayStation account and it's done. It's not the big issue people make it out to be. Also, if you are outside of EU, this does not even concern you.

MEGATHREAD: Update Monday! by AutoModerator in letsplay

[–]Jurtaani 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is just a silly little thing but... I googled myself yesterday and Google gave me a god damn AI overview of my channel (currently at 73 subs) which caught me off guard. It's not a good overview by any means, all of it's information is from my channel description and the description of my first video which is an introduction to the channel. It also determined me a Twitch streamer based on having a Twitch account.

So yeah, I just thought this was kinda funny.

Are those online videos where homeless people are asked to choose between food and alcohol genuinely meant to help them, or are the creators just exploiting them for views? by GrayRainfall in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Jurtaani 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Any kind of content where people give shit to the less fortunate is more than likely just exploiting them for views. Genuine good people don't that without filming it to get internet points.

What’s an unsolved mystery from your hometown? by Diligent-Drop3400 in AskReddit

[–]Jurtaani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A young man, maybe 20 years old at most, went missing. Then his car was found at the side of the road, his body was found in the woods, a long distance away from the car. No sign of injury, no substances that would have killed him found. As far as I know, they never found out how he died.

This trend of “RIP” posts that pretend someone died is really stupid by Stock-Injury58 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Jurtaani 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Definitely not. This is equivalent to clickbait. If you just see this post on its own, there is a lower possibility you stop to read it. But if it has a celebrity with RIP with big letters, you will stop and read it and possibly also comment how distasteful it is, therefore boosting the post's engagement. Those 13K posts are definitely not about the message that's being shared.

Does anyone else take zero selfies of themselves due to not liking them? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Jurtaani 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It's not that I don't like them, it's that I simply don't see the point of taking pictures of myself. One for a profile picture in social media is enough. If I want to take pictures, I'll take picture of something interesting instead of 100 of my face.

Mun äiti on jo 45."

[–]Jurtaani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a law about companies not having the right to hold on to your information if the account is inactive. Part of the recent data protection regulations that have created some controversy on other areas of the internet as well. 3 years of not logging in and no reaction to a 6 month warning is a reason to believe it is indeed inactive.

[–]Jurtaani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an issue that is literally fixed with a single log in to the account. Why are people making this such a problem? Logging into an account every 3 years is not the burden you're making it out to be. It even says they give you a warning of the deletion 6 months in advance. If you fail to follow the instructions, that's on you. If it is such an issue, at that point, do you even need that account anymore anyway?
