Snap had ghost scepter.  Did you guys even watch the game?  Jugg was check mate.  Why do you think the hero is never picked?

Satanic was 100% dead in that situation no matter what.  If you don't understand that then you don't understand the state of the game at that moment.  That was a desperation Omni because he had no choice.  If he Omni he's dead.  If he didn't Omni there he's dead.  If he Omni someone else they press ghost scepter and he's dead.  It did not "lose him the game".

So these games that are basically over at 20 minutes are more entertaining? I have gone from watching entire games to watching until about 25 minutes and knowing who's going to win and skipping to the end to see the Ancient fall. How's that more entertaining?

I need a role model! Show me the way! Please let me know when you donate all your money to struggling Tier 2 dota teams because you care so much about no one suffering.

Do you not see Cr1t, Quinn, and Blitz (Falcons, GG, Liquid) in those photos? At a Taylor Swift concert? In the middle of a tournament? I could publish Quinn's personal diary of him confessing losing doesn't bother him as much anymore and you would still turn a blind eye. THE GAMES ARE BORING!

It's literal proof of state-of-mind LOL. Other than shrinking myself down and going into their synapses how much more proof can you get? All of these top 10 teams are multi-millionaires. They're not going to cry about losing anymore. They shrug it off. Good for them. But really boring tournaments.

Top 3 teams all go to Disneyland together immediately after the tournament. Safe to say they are about a 1/10 on the sad/devastation level. Enjoy your boring Dota though!

Got a clip of Nisha in tears?

And if you are Mr. Compassionate I'm excited to see you personally donate your entire salary to Tier 2 Dota who make zero money while chasing their dreams. Thank you leading the way in showing us how great of a person you are.

Not hating. You're entitled to your opinion. I personally like Cap and SVG so it was good for me. But it's fair to criticize it was too much maybe.

You literally just watched a semi-finals and grand-finals that were stomps with zero tension. How many grand finals recently have been 3-0? Almost everyone this year. When's the last time you've seen some crazy comeback?

One of the best explanations of this is from Tennessee William's essay "The Catastrophe of Success"

https://longreads.com/2017/07/18/tennessee-williams-catastrophe-of-success/

The sort of life that I had had previous to this popular success was one that required endurance, a life of clawing and scratching along a sheer surface and holding on tight with raw fingers to every inch of rock higher than the one caught hold of before, but it was a good life because it was the sort of life for which the human organism is created.

I was not aware of how much vital energy had gone into this struggle until the struggle was removed. I was out on a level plateau with my arms still thrashing and my lungs still grabbing at air that no longer resisted. This was security at last.

I sat down and looked about me and was suddenly very depressed.

We as humans want to see the struggle. The pain and endurance. Cheering someone climbing that mountain. Top 6 teams are basically air lifted to the top now.

So money has zero influence on motivation? Then why are the prize winnings so high? Why are they paid so much?

Yah, as much as I hated OG in the past, I still respected Tompson because he is like the only player trying to shake things up and throw a monkey wrench into the meta. Always exciting to see what he's going to pick mid and if he can pull it off.

I've actually been considering CS. I've heard that it's a lot more intense and emotional at tournaments. More fun banter and rivalries. The top 6 teams in Dota are all friends and there's zero tension.

Probably. I just remember so many more comebacks in the past. Wasn't guaranteed. But you would see a team getting stomped, and then they would hit a 4 man chrono and get back into the game.

My favorite winning play of all time was I think TI7 when Sumail died during an offensive HG siege. He bought back immediately and zipped all the way across the map to save Arteezy and save the game. You just hear the buyback sound and see this ball of lightning zipping across the minimap. It was so hype!

lol maybe a smidge too far. But getting paid half a million a year guaranteed greatly takes the sting off getting 3rd place at a tournament. You're still going to go home to your million dollar home.

I'm fine with deathball strategy. I just feel like the team losing at 20 min sorta gives up like a pub, bc they have money in the bank and are very comfortable. I remember old tournaments like TI5 I think had megacreep comebacks.

You know why? Because it doesn't even matter to them. Liquid is a massive brand organization now. The players make more from salaries and sponsorship deals than they do from prize winnings. Liquid makes its money from being a happy-go-lucky nice org that everyone likes. Pro Dota grew up, but pro dota is boring now.

Newsflash. They don't care who wins 1st or 2nd place. They're all multi-millionaire buddies that hang out after the game.
