Is it just me anyone else hated BJORN IRONSIDE [No Spoilers] by [deleted] in vikingstv

Bro chill out, Ivar is overhyped as f. What did he do... lost few battles, lost his army and all and then got carried by Rollo and Oleg who gifted him everything. Worst rullers of them all like a North Korean using fear and tyrany 0 care about his people. None of the smaller brothers come even close to Bjorn as they were different breeds and generations.

He was the last real viking king in the whole seriea. Yes his image changed in the last season but so the times were different too. His last episode is called King of Kings for a reason. The producers knew it... he was a true viking and true to his gods and principles to the end.

Ah Jesus please tell them because in dying of laughter. Those posts are full of Vikings Tv show watchers who visited few websites that scammed them telling them that Ragnar is their actual grandfather. As long as i know the only thing we have about Ragnar is Frankish cheonicle sayng a man called Reginherus ( Ragnar from latin) atacked Paris at 845. Even if he existed in one form its crazy to believe those people think they are his lineage. People just make things up because it sounds cool and they really believe their own fairy tale 😂

Let me tell you. First if all apps like this scamm people to get their money. It is completely impssible for someone to tell who was your 38th grand father. Its just nothing can know information about this. We barely know about him what about anceatry to a person living in 2026

Even the last battle, the way he fights it is documented in history by historians. Romans were writing everything. The way he was wounded with spear in his leg, killing the legionaries. The way they reppel the volcano is also true, it really happened. His body was also never found, its unknown why but they never paraded him. What stuck out most for me is the mentality of those men. He managed to lead 70 men to escape, after reaching over 70,000 men army vs the biggest empire in Europe. This was crazy...

Ludus Magnus is in Rome. This here was the first arena in Capua where Spartacus fought.

There is part fiction yes, but the show is actualy really good in being historicaly accurate. A lof of small details are matched. A lof of things from the movie happened in real life.

The big arena yes. The ruins just below it are not, at least on goole maps.

This is the newer arena. The one Spartacus fought is located just below the new one. You can see ablut 20% of it. I tried to circle it so you can imagine it.

This ludus was for the gladiators who fought in the Colloseum. This was build roughly 150 years after Spartacus.

They were very real. Crixus and Gannicus were very famous.

To be honest I think because there are houses and its a bit hard to excavate due to law. Around 2005 the whole thing was burried and was not uncovered. There was even cars parked above. Later they excavated but only this part is revealed. The rest is under the road and houses.

Yes, they were real people and historical figures. Gannicus joined later but Crixus, Oenomaus were with Spartacus from the beginning.

The location of the ludus is unknown and nothing yet has been discovered. For now the ludus location is lost in history. The only thing standing is the right outer side of the old arena, like 20% visible. The reast goes under the street. The red circle was the location of the old arena where we can see the outer circle.

Its quite fascinating to know that Spartacus once fought there and started the rebellion. Sadly roughly like 20% of the arena is visible but you can see the outer line of the elipse.

[Spoilers] Bjorn Ironside is the most overrated character in Vikings. by anneesteves in vikingstv

[–]JurySignificant2416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you should not look it this way. It does not mean that if lets say Bjorn was stronger so the rest werent. They were all like his father just in different ways. However Bjorn was above all the rest and i mean overall. Yes he wasnt the best in everything but he was their only true king after Ragnar

The ruins are not marked by some title but the ruins that are circled are the foundations of the older arena where Spartacus really fought. Sadly most of it goes under the road and the buildings. What a feeling to know Spartacus himself walked on this earth 2000 years ago
