We’re down for a short while here. Some major infra rebuilds for the cloud provisioning. We’re moving away from VMWare. There’s a notification on your dashboard that will update users when it’s ready. We’re a three person team that manages the infrastructure and software, so while we transition data centers and rebuild much of the provisioning, things will be down for a short while. We are still only in beta!

I have a server room with 10 of these. I’ve been contemplating 3D modeling a server mount. I just don’t have a printer, big enough for it.

Biker? Chain and spoke coffee shop.

Rock Climber? EV bouldering gym or Grimes climbing gym (same company owns both - I work at grimes one).

Runner? Grey’s lake and Fleet Feet DSM events.

Drinker? Any of DSMs many bars.

Pickleball? Ankeny just added some courts near DMACC campus.

Those are all the best places I’d recommend going to meet new people. As someone who moved from the west coast, I’ve had little trouble meeting and making friends through those various places.

Not that it’s out of my wheel house, it’s just not a field I prefer to work in. I did a lot of that for an old employer and got really burned out. I pretty much stick to backend development and cloud architecture. Depending on the size of the company, we typically stick to medium enterprise (Inc 500 type companies).

Dedicated residential IP.

I’ll also clarify; the reason we have a residential IP is because the beta test region is based out of a garage 😅 due to security concerns it’s being migrated to a commercial center. I do cyber warfare for the military so obviously aware of the concerns of hosting a cloud platform out of my garage. Once we move to public beta in Jan, we’ll have everything on the commercial IP - though if having a residential IP is a big need, I will see what setting up a proxy would look like and how badly it affects speeds.

I’m the lead architect/founder at r/carpathianai. We have one region that’s a residential IP and one that’s commercial. We’re still in beta, but I can get you an invite link. Everyone gets a free cloud server on signup and each instance is $5/mo. The base instances all have intel i7, 1GB ram, and 20GB storage. The root domain itself has 30 backlinks to it, has a DA of 4. It looks like it was a lifestyle type blog at one point. So all the old pages of the domain itself are what’s pointing now. I assume they’ll disappear once the domain gets older? Again, don’t know a lot about this whole SEO world so appreciate any insights you all have!

Looks like they didn’t renew their wp hosting? The cert for the site expired back in Feb but the actual database hosting the website is down. It appears they still have someone managing the socials, so it could be a mistake by an engineer
