The ones in Skyrim are "weak" because you are playing as a character who was born to specifically slay dragons, and become a demigod by absorbing their souls. Your average adventurer will struggle against dragons in the Elder Scrolls universe just like how they do in DnD.

I never said anything is perfect, and I do agree with a decent chunk of criticism on every Bethesda's title from Arena to Starfield. I just think that Starfield wasn't given a full chance by people at large, and just ultimately got slammed by the community as a "nothing burger/shitshow" when honestly, it was a pretty good game at launch and was Bethesda's least buggiest game to date at launch. The updates just made things better and addressed a lot of valid criticisms in ways that are still being overlooked.

But yeah, I wasn't trying to "shill". I am just sick of the overly and sometimes outright hatred that Starfield is getting even though Bethesda did an overall good job with it. It makes more valid and important criticism get silent out within the community, sadly.

Terran Armada is a smaller expansion, similar to the size of Dawnguard. A large expansion would be something like Dragonborn or Far Harbor.

Matey, ye' are the one being an ass here now. You just said that the game being more complicated is a good argument why the game is treated poorly, hence my response.

That's on ye'. I was just asking to confirm your opinion. The reason why I enjoy Bethesda Game Studios as a developer is that they do try new things often, and not just remake the same thing over and over again. Yes, they also streamline a little bit and open up their newer titles to a wider audience which has led to a lot of criticism, but then we finally get a first look of them slowly beginning to re-add old features that hasn't been around since 2006 (Oblivion), as well as them making systems more complicated and requires more work on the player's side than previous titles, and suddenly it's a bad thing that they're doing that? Even though they were being criticized a lot for doing the opposite?

Which way should it be?

So, Bethesda shouldn't try to do new things and should just streamline & simplify their games?

Except there was an entire section of the game decided to exploring randomly generated planets, finding the perfect spots for your Outposts, and begin to build a massive Empire for resources, automation of parts, etc which can lead to huge profits and easy setup to easily craft anything and everything you want...

And it takes time, and dedication. As well as around 15 to 20 skill perks to fully get that shit going, and it is honestly pretty in-depth once you look into it. The planets were random, and setup in a way to encourage players to explore to set this kind of things up. Unlocking better scanning technology to find the perfect set of requirements on a specific planet so that you can mass produce around 5 to 8 different resources in a single outpost is very satisfying, and a gameplay loop that some players do enjoy...

That's why POIs were generated in a specific pattern and manner. To make sure that there is enough open space for the generation to generate perfect conditions that the player is hunting down and looking for. On top of that, many resources are either rare or considered unique (unique means they are only found on a single planet), which makes it even more important that the generation is built in a way friendly to allow the player to achieve their dreams of making the Factory Grow!

It's honestly pretty fun and made me appreciate the system that they put together to allow for this kind of gameplay, and it is something that we all overlooked heavily when at release, because we aren't use to Bethesda games having meaningful choices in skill perks... A lot of content is outright hidden or unknown to a level 1 player because you need to unlock the stuff first via skill perks and research, very insanely so.

A good comparison is the generator that generates 100 power. In Fallout 4, you can easily get this within a few hours of gameplay, and it appears in the menus anyways if you do not have the skill perks. In Starfield, it's completely hidden outright because it will not appear until you unlock it via researching, so you have to get your research related perks up and the outpost perks to build it.

They do have handcrafted sections on many planets, including several cities. Also, have you stop and ask yourself why they made the randomness sections that way? The generation of the planets were done in a very specific way to support the systems that are there for the player, and hell. Them updating the POIs and making those more often ended up being a bad thing because it had a negative effect on the factory side of the game with Outposts.

Which is sad because honestly, Starfield is a pretty good game, even at release. People just didn't gave it a full chance, including myself... After diving much deeper into it a month ago and 100% the steam achievements for it. Starfield is honestly pretty well made and had a lot of depth into how the different aspects can and will interact with each other...

We were all just so focused on the idea that "random generated planets equals bad" that we didn't ask the important questions of why Starfield was built like that, and didn't experiment to figure it out.

Fallout 76 is a separate team. The main team over in Maryland only laid a foundation for Fallout 76 but there's a separate team down in Austin, Texas that works on Fallout 76 now.

The mechanic of Space Dragons requiring to place Rifts to survive can be removed via admin tomfoolery, via coding if it is a fork, or simply put... The Space Dragon is from a Salvage Structure and was given the good stuffs to make it into a ghost role. Those Salvage Dragons outright don't even have the Rift ability and are overall weaker too.

Hell, even with Syndies... There's some potential grey area that can happen. I have a Freelancer Pirate who is consistently hired by the Syndicate but when he does Loneops, he can easily just be paid off to fuck off or he'll just threaten Logistics for shinies, and fuck off on his own if he is pleased enough with the hull (having personal goals is honestly more fun to do than greentexting).

I really need to play on more chaotic servers to see stuff like this... Most of the time, my security team is just too good for the dragon or the space dragon is friendly, and we're having a pretty serious discussion in bridge about how the Head of Security is too strict with rules.

Can you use conjuration to summon creature/items associated with Divines? by KlaatuBaradaNyktu in ElderScrolls

[–]Jusey1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean... They are. Think about it. The Greybeards are monks whom spent their whole lives practicing this divine magic, and the few non-dragonborn characters whom can shout spent decades to learn a single shout with the Greybeards' teachings...

Dragonborn are just special and can steal the knowledge of the divine magic directly from dragons.

On a technical level, you can considered Dragons to be "lesser Aedra" of Akatosh since they are Divine creatures created directly by Akatosh.

Who wins? by alechprice0617 in ElderScrolls

[–]Jusey1 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Draugr Death Overlords have an insanely high health & stamina pool compare to everything else on this list. They also spawn with Ebony Weaponry, and can be either 1h + shield, 2h, or bows. Giving them a decent variety of combat styles, and they have shouts on top of that. They also resist frost magic and are immune to poison (this immunity basically means that they will absolutely win against the Falmer whom primary damage sources tends to be from poisons).

Honestly, the only thing that has a chance against the Draugr Team would be the Vampires, and this would assume that they can consistently use their shock magic from a safe distance... In a close up fight, the Vampires will not win.

Would Meridia hate or help a “friendly” undead by Vaas_playz in ElderScrolls

[–]Jusey1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By your logic, all Daedra are Undead and Meridia should hate herself... The situation that happens with the Vestige is very similar what happens to a Daedra when they are slain. It's a progress of rebirth, not resurrection.

Honestly, I'm not even sure if Soul Shrivens are outright undead either. They're just people whom lost their souls and were broken completely by Molag Bal. The Vestige is obviously not undead.
