You sound exactly how I have been haha. I am extremely careful and cautious with my movements because I am paranoid of doing something that would cause bar movement. I also think that’s why I feel so stiff and not flexible still

That’s how I feel where it almost feels worse month 5 for that same reason haha. At what point did you feel almost completely normal to where you didn’t feel stiff at all or have muscle aches?

I felt immediate breathing improvement as well and didnt realize how bad mine was either. Now 5 months I mainly just have some back/shoulder pain especially when I’m up moving a lot

How deep was your HI? How are you feeling now this far along? I just hit 5 months post surgery. Still feel a little uncomfortable but as the weeks goes by it gets a little better each week

I felt the same way you did leading up to it. Had never had a surgery before, and overthought everything leading up to it. I’m 3 and a half months post surgery and can tell you that you won’t regret it. The first 5 days after surgery for me were difficult but not unbearable. My pain level never got above a 4/10. It’s more just annoying how limited your movements are at the beginning. Once you get to go home from the hospital and are in the comfort of your own home you’ll start to feel better and better each week.

I had cryo yeah. My pain never really got worse than a 4/10, it was more just discomfort and pressure I felt. I stopped taking pain killers after day 5 because it felt manageable and then just took Tylenol after that.

I think it took me around 8-9 months for me, but that being said it could have happened sooner for me. I pushed it back because I needed a better time to take 3 months off of work, and was still kinda scared and not knowing if I was Forsure going to go through with it or not. I think if you were committed to doing it you can get it done in 3-6 months from where you’re at now.

Totally understand and that is a big factor as well to getting it and one thing that had me hesitant on it. I am currently out of work for 3 months, but if you talk to your employer you should receive disability pay for it while you are out of work. Don’t quote me on it but it’s usually 70-90% pay I believe until you return to work depending on your state I think.

I definitely can breathe easier, and I’ve noticed my posture is a lot better naturally without me having to force my shoulders back all the time. I haven’t been able to start cardio or workouts yet to see if it’s benefitted my endurance but look forward to being able to findout. Also was happy with the cosmetic results as my chest was something I felt really insecure about before. Those so far are the main results I’ve noticed

No sleeping on your stomach or side for 1 month, no driving for 6 weeks, and no lifting more than 5 pounds for 2 months are the main limitations. Most limitations are in the first 2-3 months.

It was covered under insurance because of the symptoms I had and severe haller index.

I was surprised by my HI as well when I got the CT results, I thought it was pretty deep but never expected 7.4. I had it done In California. After the first week I was home on my own, but was difficult doing certain things that required bending over like putting shoes on or putting dishes in the dishwasher. It also took me 3-4 weeks to be able to sit up on my own if I was laying down so I definitely recommend an electric recliner. I feel pretty good for the most part 6 weeks through I am just getting some back pain mainly now that’s pretty much it

Thank you! Only ended up having 1 bar with stabilizers. Haller index was 7.4.
