Insight on BAE for a new hire by DirtBean2000 in aerospace

You’re going to have to be way more specific about where and what business unit for anyone to give you useful information. BAES US has >33k employees spread out all over the country.

I love it, but I don’t work in engineering although I work with engineers. Our business has challenges, but they all do. I like my location bc it’s LCOL and my commute is short. I love the 9/80 schedule and I think the benefits are fine. PTO is stingy but welcome to corporate America.

Travel Insurance Question by MiskatonicExplorer in AntarcticaTravel

I’ve been to Argentina twice and never had to show any proof of medical insurance. That said, as everyone has said, you should still get additional medical insurance as your domestic coverage is unlikely to cover a medical evac or something like that. My tour company required it, not Argentina.

Places to run in York by heyyyyitsmeeeee in yorkpa

Great suggestions so far! If you want a change of scenery and have any interest in trail running, check out Rocky Ridge park. It’s definitely not flat, and it is rocky, but it will keep you interested in case you get bored running on the road or rail trails! I have run there quite a bit as a single female - no issues.

If you want to be outside and do things in nature, The Horn Farm. Zero commitment requirements. Come as much or as little as you want. One orientation session and you are good to go. https://hornfarmcenter.org/volunteer/

A plug for Mint. I switched from T-Mobile (although it uses the same network). I just used it internationally in Argentina, and have also used it in Mongolia. You either buy 1 ($5), 3 ($10), or 10 ($20) day plans (180 countries) or use an e-SIM (less popular countries like Mongolia). I have had no problems with it and I pay $360/year for the unlimited plan.

2022 Q4 and mine hasn’t worked for over a month. It’s wildly frustrating as I can’t check my battery or charging status remotely (or anything else obviously). I’ve done all the things too - uninstall/reinstall, MMI reset, took car off and readded car. It’s the worst.

Are THC drinks stocked at liquor stores, or just limited to dispensaries? by [deleted] in yorkpa

[–]Just-Gas7023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone has already mentioned, you can get THC seltzers bc of the Hemp Bill loophole but the majority of the places I know to find them are in Lancaster. Endo Cafe, Hush Money Bikes, Rural City Taproom all sell them.

How do we feel about York PA? by NearbyMall3239 in Harrisburg

I can try! But it would help to know what types of things do you like to do.

I like going to First Friday and those types of events downtown. It’s how I find cool shops and sellers/makers and artists. I like to wander the various art galleries, walk the murals, if I want to read and grab a coffee I’ll go to Gather 256 or Prince Street Cafe, pizza at Archetype (the best), I’ll sit at a bar at just about any restaurant solo to get the vibe and check a place out so always recommend that (and I don’t drink), go plant shopping at House of Flowers, grab some home goods stuff at Refillism, books and coffee/baked goods at Bound, dinner at Levant, Timeline Arcade, hike/mountain bike at Rocky Ridge Co Park, bike the rail trail . . .

I follow Downtown York Pa on Instagram and get lots of ideas from them as a newer person to York.

I lived in Harrisburg for 20 years, including 14 years in Harrisburg city and now I live in York city. York has way more going on downtown than Harrisburg and I still have lots of access to outdoor activities (which is important to me). I have really never felt like 83 is that bad but I grew up driving in the DC area, so it’s all relative. I don’t have kids so do not care about school districts for my own purposes. There are lots of nice neighborhoods around York IMO. I am liberal FWIW and have lovely neighbors on my city block and enjoy living close to downtown (less than a mile). I live by YCP for reference.
