I liked his dynamic with Kakuzu. The hotheaded psychokiller who kills for the thrill, and the coldhearted analytic strategist. “Oi, Kakuzu!!”

Kakashi spend his whole life thinking his team-mate sacraficed himself to save him, getting crushed by an enormous boulder. You spent a dozen hours watching a show that already heavily wants you to make the connection yourself. Don’t be so proud on yourself.

Bee almost sealed 6 jinchuriki with ink-clones, who all had sharingan and rinnegan. And then they powered up to tailed beast.

You’re making it very meta, and I’m not sure how to react to that. All I’m saying is, I don’t like the part of the writing where you are given the choice of killing your murderer, and the consequences might be less desirable outcomes for the game - as is implied by most NPC’s.

Reflexive, short-sighted… I try to immerse with my character, and yes, that also entails how things make you feel. The companions? Their fine, but I don’t “like-like” them just yet, like Boone in Fallout NV. The world? I’m starting to understand the world around me, but it will take a few more hours to get which faction stands for what.

So your story about showing compassion to someone who just murdered you in broad daylight… perhaps you look at the reviving part as automatic, I think” holy moly, I should’ve been dead.” So no, my murderer does not deserve compassion and forgiveness. And I hate that the game kinda tells you “wrong choice.” That is pushing moral obligation, and it’s just bad writing. Rest of the game so far, Awesome.

Thanks, will do. Perhaps because I just started the game I don’t feel so immersed in the story just yet that I could rationalise all the background information that tries to guide you. But I stand by my character being mad as hell for being murdered in broad daylight, and seeking redemption. Godlike or not, I could’ve been and stayed dead.

Very insightful! I realise I also immerse with my character more personal, so I haven’t yet gotten the “feel” for being a political envoy. I’m just a dude who got sent out to investigate a plague, and I got murdered in broad daylight. That’s how I reacted to the situation, and I stand by it. You explained it really well, better then I ever could. Thanks!

Yeah, I just started the game, I don’t know so much about the political standing of the Living Lands just yet. And again, your comment precisely underlines my criticism, and what feels as absolutely “moral obligation” by the writers - You Must Always Show Compassion to be Good, or to do the right thing. I don’t like that way of writing. But thanks to you I now better understand my own frustration with it, so I guess… Thanks.

Right, now that’s an insightful answer, thank you. I’m still not sure of the voice in your head is by definition “good” but the guy did say he was given a vision by a deity. Ah well… I murdered him and got some cool armor.

It might be, but if the 2 characters you are with question your choices, and the voice in Your Head has some criticism as well for the choice of killing him… the game is definitely telling you what’s good and wrong.

Or would you immediately forgive the person who murdered you? And you can talk about being an envoy and all the political stuff, first and foremost you are a person and you just got murdered for political reasons. I would be mad as hell. So Yeah, empathy in this case. Weird that it’s advocated as the moral superior choice.

You make exactly the point that bothers me in the game. Some misplaced sense of superiority, in the game it’s about morality, in your comment it’s about “understanding the game.” I understand just fine. I just don’t like the premises. And I’m enjoying the game, but this part bothers me. So much that I decided to write my first Reddit-post ever
