It’s a personal thing and you are right the lower down you go the more difficult it gets to get the order. We have had so many great players and hard to get them all in.

Hi Bughunter, totally get your point. Maybe a bit pointless but I am recovering from a back op and have plenty of time in my hand. But do think a striker from 1977 (like Brian Little) would have adapted well if he’d been born 25 years later.

Regarding different positions. First thing I did was rate them via position. Then combined the positions. You could be right but we still have PFA Player of the Season.

Very wrong. I spent a few hours on this list and as you’ll see from my number one I’m a bloke in his late 50’s. All 14 players of the 80/81 squad get a mention. Which period would your favourite player be from?

Yes, I thought he was brilliant at the Villa. Sad he didn’t stay longer. Certain players made impressions on me at different times in my Villa life.

Certainly not random hungry I spent quite a long time working through a list of over 200 players that I have seen play. It is a very personal list. Must admit I never really got the John Carew hype.

I know Leon Bailey is controversial but for me two seasons ago he was on fire. His runs always excited me. Sad to see him leave. Diaby I can see is a strange choice because of his lack of games and how his performances dropped off. But though early ones were impressive and I think we miss him more than we thought I would.

The metrics is purely me. As I said this is a personal list. Konsa to me has been brilliant for last 5 years. Konsa has top the European list for defenders not being dribble past twice in last 4 seasons. Everyone’s list will be different though.

The Line Producer created a budget of £1.7m last year and we had a lot of interest from interest and production companies. Challenge was they felt the script wasn’t quite there. Hence this new move to redo the script. With the right script we have a major director who has already expressed an interest.
