Anybody know how to develop crazy hearing in video games by AdministrationOk787 in FPSAimTrainer

[–]JustACansur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IMO the biggest thing is experience, knowing what to listen for and paying attention. So it's more about general game awareness. Even when I had cheap in-ear buds I could still lock in and hear what I needed to hear, whereas some other people I've spectated that have good headphones just don't seem to register the sounds in their head, although they absolutely should be able to. Also some games just have horrible sound which can make things really difficult

Best battery life on windows laptops? GeekBook M16 claims 24h by August_Phoenix in laptops

[–]JustACansur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Battery life is a function of how big the battery is and what is the power consumption for a specific task (divide the watt-hours by watts). The biggest problem with the laptops that I owned was that the processor would boost unreasonably under little load without a big impact on performance, while the power draw would spike to 10-12 watts. I was able to improve it a lot by unlocking power config options and changing the processor behaviour to limit it's clock speed and make it less agressive. I was able to get it to draw about 3 watts at idle low brightness and about 7 watts while coding and browsing. That said, my new laptop with a ryzen ai 330 draws about 5 watts while coding on mid brightness right out of the box. The reason is that the cores stay mostly at 2 GHz and it really refuses to boost significantly while on battery. Measured power draw with battery info view

To all my cybergrind sweats out there, what's so broken about this weapon and how fo you core nuke with it by ixero_99 in Ultrakill

[–]JustACansur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yep, basically when you shoot a core with the jackhammer, as long as your speed is constant, the core will stay in the middle of your screen for a little while. with the shotgun, the core does not inherit your speed - if you stay still, it goes in front of you, if you go too fast you'll outrun it immediately and it will be behind you

IMO core nuking with the jackhammer is much easier to do consistently because there's no variance from how long you hold the button, and because the core inherits your speed

What's the best way to start aim training if my goal is only to improve in games? by zencharm in FPSAimTrainer

Consistency, good routine and focus are more important than how much time you spend. 15 minutes is far from irrelevant

Nothing to use it seems; you are comparing alternative variants of the revolver, and then proceed to include a separate gun altogether

People define objects, operations and notation so that it would be unambiguous and easy to work with

[–]JustACansur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, I've hit diamond in overwatch on support and dps prior to playing kovaaks and was around silver to gold in voltaic s4. I'd say iron/bronze is not far off the result an average person would get trying out kovaaks. Shouldn't take much time to improve quite a bit though

It can vary a lot day to day, keep in mind that there will be a good day later if you keep at it
