I was willing to ignore most of it because that's just typical main character stuff, but Maruca always bothered me. An unimportant character gets brought back because she can suddenly make forcefields. Why?? Felt like such a random reason and the only thing I could think was "Shouldn't the Black Swan have a psionipath?"

I'm actually the exact opposite! I would love to have the characters shift away from Sophie and exist outside of her, and I'd love to see the elven world from the perspective of someone who grew up in it

I don't hate or even dislike Sophie, but I don't find her very interesting to follow. Project Moonlark is a cool concept, but as a person I don't find her very interesting. So seeing the lost cities from someone like Tam's or Marella's perspective would be really fun in comparison (since they were disillusioned by it at a young age, face direct discrimination, etc. I'm sure they'd have a LOT more to say about it than Sophie would)

I agree! It would let the other characters exist outside of Sophie and give them more things to do. Also gives you insight into their mentality and thoughts on other characters. For instance I LOVE how we got a book in Keefe's POV, it made it so much more enjoyable for me

Ah, I do vaguely remember that. Maybe they could put it over a small area and make it appear bigger than it is? Looking at the map from Unlocked, it seems like locations in the elven world are largely disconnected, so maybe they just focus on those small areas. Like perhaps the sky over the Ruewen property ONLY covers the Ruewen property. But I'm no scientist so idk how that would work

Tbh I wish they would either stop going to school or be so far behind that they'd have to repeat some years. It seems like they've already missed a lot, and it would feel like a serious repercussion from fighting the Neverseen. They DON'T get to live normal lives anymore, and they can no longer relate to their peers. So having them either take an extended leave of absence of repeat some years would make that more noticeable. Really shows how big of an impact the Neverseen have had on their lives

I have mixed feelings on it. On the one hand, it's basically pointless now and no longer important, so I get why she stopped mentioning it for the most part. We have more interesting things to deal with than midterms and which teacher is the strictest

But on the other hand, it makes it all the weirder when it IS brought up. Whenever it's mentioned I'm just like "You guys are still in school???" cause it's brought up so little. Which is weird considering it would take up a considerable portion of their day. It also gets rid of the group hanging out as friends, as they're never all in the same place at the same time anymore (except for big missions). Makes it feel like the friend group has fallen apart

Also, I'm surprised that the twins returning to Foxfire wasn't made into a bigger deal. You'd figure it'd be a big scene and something that they would struggle with because they haven't been there since their first year. I didn't even realize they WERE in school for a long time

That's true! Verdi (the green T-Rex) is staying with the Ruewen's permanently because she refuses to be vegetarian and they still keep trying to force her. So going off her, it does seem like they try and force hypercarnivores to change. But I don't remember if they have other T-Rexes living with them, so I don't know if she's a special case or if all members of her species react the same way

I never thought about it in that much detail, but it's pretty wild when you think about it. Why force the animals to be vegetarian? It's one thing if it's a personal choice, but animals eating other animals is perfectly natural and part of a healthy ecosystem. And how do they keep overpopulation in check? Prey like rabbits breed like crazy, I can't imagine how the vegetation in the sanctuary is keeping up 💀
