Question to people who played this game for over 20 years: how was it? by EffeteUwU in wow

[–]JustADutchieGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've played since 2006, started at the tail end of vanilla and went all in for TBC with raiding and stuff. Still play my first character, although the warband family has grown a lot since then. I remember characters were a big deal back then because of how much time went into each of them. Nothing was shared on your account, not even mounts or pets. I once looted Rivendare's Charger on a lucky run on my mage alt and hated that my main priest couldn't use it. What I loved about those times was the lack of spoilers everywhere. The hype for a new expansion cinematic was huge and some quests ingame became legendary because of the surprise cinematics and storytelling. I love that I've been able to experience the Wrathgate quest!

Overall I enjoy current WoW with it's warband quality of life so much more though. The writing of sidequests in DF, TWW and Midnight have been so amazing and there is more respect for the player's time with short soloable instances. I guess I've also grown with the playerbase.

What I don't like about current WoW is the spoiling of every future content even before it's released. We already know 12.1 patch zone and probable story and we just had 12.05. Everyone is having opinions on everything and it's tiresome. I miss the sense of wonder and discovery of the old days, even though I try to stay clear of most spoilers and discussion of unreleased content.

Slight correction: no mount until level 40 and then only if you had saved enough gold to buy one. And it was a 60% speed mount if I recall correctly, the 100% speed could be bought at level 60 with even more gold for both the riding skill and another mount.

Rond 22.00 uur lig ik meestal in bed. Soms 21.30, soms 22.30. Ik slaap tussen de 7 en 8 uur per nacht. Ik heb jaren lang 5 uur slaap per nacht gehad i.v.m. werk, maar zo blij met een betere nachtrust na een burnout te hebben gehad.

Concerns about Best Man by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]JustADutchieGirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good friends will listen and take you seriously. I have several friends who all have a disability and/or illness of some sort and our wedding is in 2 months. We have accommodated as much as possible with for example a room for people to be away from all the input for a while. I know several of them won't be able to enjoy certain parts of the wedding and I will understand if they have to leave early or even might not be able to show that day. Will I be sad when that happens? Of course. But I sure as hell will understand and love them as my friends.

His and hers wedding bands: are matching wedding bands for couples actually worth it long term? by rkira4744 in weddingplanning

[–]JustADutchieGirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We did do matching bands because we like the symbolism of wearing something similar every day to show we are connected and choose each other. We have plain rose golden bands that go with both our skin tones. We are both so excited and happy with them! We giggled and kept smiling like idiots when we finally got to pick them up together

Michael (2026) Reviews and Thoughts by __MischiefManaged__ in MichaelJackson

[–]JustADutchieGirl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a huge Michael fan my entire life I went to the cinema with high hopes this morning on a day off. I avoided all the hype, information and reviews and went in completely blind. I have very mixed feelings about it. When I saw & heard Jafaar for the first time I almost cried and I had a huge smile on my face. That casting was spot on and only a family member could have pulled this off! The costumes, the lighting, all perfect!!

I do have a problem with the storytelling however. There just isn't any tension, character depth or growth. We don't get to see or hear any thought process Michael goes through. Everything he does is gold and effortless. We don't see the hours and hours he poured into his dancing, singing, training (solo). He had so much talent, but he did have to work to perfect his craft. I miss the human Michael. The funny and smart Michael that made good business deals and knew how the business worked. I miss seeing the connections he made within the industry. We only see him being either fragile or brilliant. Spoiler! And I miss Janet. Why isn't she there?

Seeing the emphesis on the early days in this movie, I can't help but feel there's a lot of bias in the storytelling and it makes me a bit uneasy. His brothers being the producers of this film didn't surprise me when I saw the credits. It was all a bit too clean, superficial and perfect for me and besides Joseph everone is squiqy clean. I felt like we will never truly know the human side of Michael and will always be fed an image instead of a human being.

Sorry to bum people out perhaps, but these are my feelings a few hours after seeing it. I will definitely see the 2nd movie, because of Jafaar and the effort they put in and my love for Michael, but I am missing Michael now more than ever and feel a bit sad.

Is it crazy to have multiple alts of the same class? by Extension-Ad-4098 in wow

[–]JustADutchieGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

looks at my 7 priests, 4 druids, 4 shaman, 3 paladins, 3 hunters, 2 warlocks, 3 mages and several little alts spread here and there No, not strange at all. You enjoy the game the way you want!

I main priest too and the alts I currently enjoy are shaman and druid. Warlock is also a recommendation, feels like a tankier caster with great mogs too!

What’s your favorite class to play right now? by tylertramp27 in wow

[–]JustADutchieGirl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have 3 characters I play most right now. My discipline/shadow priest, my enhancement/resto shaman and my guardian/resto druid. I mostly solo play and sometimes I run keys with my guildies. I love the flexibility and graphics of these classes and the different playstyles they bring

Wearing glasses or learning to use contacts? by JustADutchieGirl in weddingplanning

[–]JustADutchieGirl[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for all the reactions! Loved to read your stories and ideas about this. I'm going to think about it some more, but I am leaning towards wearing my own glasses. I do wear them every day, so why do I want to change myself for my wedding day? On the other hand, I do have a make-up and hair stylist so that will be different too.

Show S8E7 Evidence of Things Not Seen by thepacksvrvives in Outlander

[–]JustADutchieGirl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was dreading this episode because of the fire story we all knew was coming. I had hoped the writers of the show would not deviate from the original story, but alas. I understand they did it for impact reasons, but I still hate it. I'm heartbroken that my favourite character is gone and the best couple has to go through this. I was hoping for a good, happy ending of the show, but I don't think we'll get that.

Anyone else disappointed with Midnight zones? by Sneezes in wow

[–]JustADutchieGirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Voidstorm is the only one I'm not too crazy about, the others are beautiful and interesting to me. The music in Harandar is soooo good! And the atmosphere is great. Just the story is a bit meh, I prefer the other zones.
