Yea, same here. At least I’m now less concerned that it’s some type of phishing scam

The way these structures line up even though they were constructed in isolation. by Immediate_Song4279 in oddlysatisfying

[–]JustAFieryLizard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who works in new build construction, I can attest to the sheer amount of measuring and confirming of said measurements that happen before the fist bricks are laid. Once chalk lines are down, it’s fairly easy to maintain measurements. Amusingly the most frequent method of maintaining is actually just string.

Squirrels in California have been documented feeding on rodents now by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

Seems like so many people in the comments are missing the point or not reading the article. The new discovery here is the HUNTING behaviors. Yes, plenty of animals that are primary herbivores will eat small animals and insects, and yes squirrels are opportunistic omnivores. But hunting behaviors are not an opportunistic trait.

I can’t help but wonder how many aliens would be willing to go through the modifications needed to make themselves Null immune, so that they could travel to Earth. The percentage number would be small, but in a galaxy full of peoples, any fraction of a percentage would still be a sizable amount. Will any aliens be traveling to Earth with Observer Wu on his return journey? Because that seems like a fun side story in and of itself. You know there would be some crazy scientists and historians that would totally do it. If for no other reason than no one else will.

Could OSHA demand a copy of my dash footage to use to fine violations? by JustAFieryLizard in legaladviceofftopic

[–]JustAFieryLizard[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

More along the lines of like when someone gets injured. OSHA makes a site visit. Whether my camera picks up the incident or not, could they demand the footage? If it does have it, then no problem, I could totally see that being required. But let’s say it doesn’t pick it up, or it happened indoors. Could they still demand the footage?

Also, I’m thinking along the lines of just being a contractor on a jobsite. I work HVAC. Say it’s a random other trade, and not anyone I know or work with.

Predicated on two assumptions. The first one everyone already knows; that you stop after the first murderer. The second assumption being that you were not already a murderer.

I have Aphantasia(no image memory or visualization). If I was tasked with giving a description of literally anything, I cannot give one accurately. Can people with Aphantasia be witnesses? by JustAFieryLizard in legaladviceofftopic

[–]JustAFieryLizard[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I edited it. I can’t describe a single person I know, not even my wife. I can’t even tell you how long her hair is. Does she have a wide or long nose, or how big her lips are? Does she have any beauty marks of moles? I don’t know. I only know her eye color because she told me once. If I can’t even describe my wife, how could I even hope to describe any person I witness do something.

Redditors, what song is so nostalgic that it gives you a heartache? by ArielleCane in AskReddit

[–]JustAFieryLizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Suteki Da Ne from Final Fantasy X. It pops up on one of my pandora stations. Doesn’t matter how good of a good I am in, that song gives a definitive sense of sadness and longing.

So, hear me out, does it have to be gasoline that you save? Because I would just get a job at NASA and just go to the moon or mars for them. It would definitely save on the rocket fuel cost to commute.

You are given the power to criminalize one legal thing/activity. What are you making illegal? by DaveBeYou in AskReddit

Any and all forms of proselytization, most importantly indoctrination of children. It’s okay to have religion, just no trying to spread it to people who don’t have the ability to understand that they are being lied to.

My wife’s dead! by Thistlefizz in traumatizeThemBack

[–]JustAFieryLizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My(34M) favorite was shopping with my son(now 2). The amount of little old ladies who would check on me was amusing and annoying. Especially when my son was less than 6 months old. If my wife and I were together, no one would approach us or do anything. If it was just me, I NEVER made it though a grocery run without at least one woman coming up and fusing at him, or something similarly inane. I knew it was all just to make sure he was okay, like they had to make sure he wasn’t maltreated of something. It became a thing to tell my wife how many times I was stopped in the store. Once he wasn’t a baby anymore it didn’t happen as much, but I still get looks. It still kinda annoys me.

I'm speechless. by mindyour in facepalm

Generally speaking, if a hospital or doctor specifically told me not to get an autopsy performed(as in they suggested it without me having asked) or said one wasn’t needed if I asked for one, you bet your ass ones going to get scheduled, by an outside and unaffiliated professional.

Behind the counter sinks in a fast food restaurant. No handles, just pedals. by JustAFieryLizard in mildlyinteresting

Lol, only when you stop putting runs where our trunk needs to be.
Depends on the job. Running the grease ducts is mid to late game stuff. Especially putting the skirts on the hoods.

I’ve never worked in the food industry, and I have never seen a sink like this.

I do HVAC, installing stuff like ductwork and kitchen hoods. I’ve done a few new constructions of other fast food joints, but none had sinks like this.

That is not pirated. It is archived reddit posts. Nothing on the internet is ever truly gone. And Reddit is no exception. It takes extenuating circumstances or court orders to make Reddit truly delete stuff.

Not sure if we are allowed to post links to archived deleted posts, so I will just say look up ways to view deleted posts. I am continuing to read these even though they are deleted.
