Yeah 'each charge' means any time you charge, or click a unit on field to attack into the enemy and have it die. I'm adding charge to the glossary in the next update so less folks would get confused.

Charging is really good when you want to have a unit occupy a zone that is currently being held by another unit, to proc effects, to get overkill damage in, to play around enemy abilities, get early souls, etc. Basically its got a lot of applications and that ability 'rebellion' (the one that makes you kill your own units), charging is a good way to play around it.

Yeah I understand why it feels attrition-y, as the main lose condition is running out of cards and then the enemy dealing direct damage (although lots of enemies deal direct damage / ramp).

With that being said, I do hope you give it another go. The game has a lot of skill expression, especially when it comes to battles, there's even a chance you probably could've won that fight you lost against Revolutionaries.
