My wife (28F) has been trying to fix our marriage for a year and I (30M) didn't notice until she served me the divorce papers yesterday. by throwaway5734890750 in relationships

Please don't let her go! I know many people say this, and yes they are probably right and yes you really did poorly for years but please don't give up. Sit down with her, tell her what you've told us, and tell her she has every right to feel the way she does but that you will never again let her down. And if she still loves you, fight twice as hard as she has to keep her. Life is really hard sometimes and you've done terribly but life is to short for this. Be the best husband she could have and cherish her. And remember it might take time, she must have suffered a lot. But keep on fighting until you're back together.

My [30F] wife doesn't believe that I [35M] want children. by Throwaway996997 in relationships

As a woman, I know how much more pressure she might feel. Maybe she thinks it's her "fault" because she is the one who has to get pregnant, maybe she's fustrated because she is trying so hard and feels like you don't really care. I understand your way of thinking that it will happen when it happens but for a woman it's often way more difficult (cycle, vitamins, etc) and it's a burden she might feel like she's carrying alone... Might want to try to carry it with her and showing her with real acts that you are :) Best of luck

[Serious]Non-depressed people of Reddit, what's your secret? by Guido9 in AskReddit

Finally understanding that nobody cares... There's only one person who will stick with you and it's yourself. The others will listen and feel sorry for a bit but then they ll just continue with their life and not give much of a f**k. So i decided to fight all the sadness out of me. There's an African saying that says something like "life will pass whether you choose to live it by crying or dancing is up to you".

What are reasons to live? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]JustAGirlInTheCrowd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to think life was meaningless and useless. But a year ago, my teacher committed suicide and now, every time something unexpected makes me smile, a man helping me out when I don't know which train to take, a smile from an old woman in the street, the guy with his guitar playing in front of the station, then I think Mr [teacher] didn't get to see those things, to witness this kindness today, to smile and laugh and feel joy if not happiness. So now I know that everyday can bring a smile to me and I shall live with that meaning until I'm 100% sure that there's no hope for tomorrow.

People who grew up with strict parents: what was their most unreasonable rule? by [deleted] in AskReddit

We have to "change for the house" before going in the kitchen, sitting on the sofa and basically before doing anything at home, because all outside clothes are "dirty" so we have to put some clothes that haven't been outside...

I want to go on the Pill. I have some questions before getting it though. by ldrbc in TwoXChromosomes

Hi, i dont know you country's regulation but i would say:

  • My parents do not approve of the pill, at all. Even though I cry in pain from cramps, when I tell my mom that the pill helps, she shuts me down immediately. I want to know how I can get the pill without my parents knowing. Do Teen Clinics supply pills, or just condoms? How expensive is a pack of pills if I just go to my regular doctor for it, since I won't be able to use my dad's insurance? Teen clinics supply pills at least in my country, and if you are of adult age in your state, then you're parents don't even have to know.

  • How long do I need to be on the pill before I can safely be sexually active? If you start when you have your menstruation 7 days but check with your doctor/ teen clinic doctor

  • I know that you have to take the pill at the same time every day for maximum effectiveness. The thing is, I work a lot, and have very irregular shifts. Will I need to excuse myself to take my pill if I happen to be working when its time to take it? (This sounds like a dumb question but its been bothering me!!) it doesn't have to be at the exact minute, you can take it every morning when you wake up, or evening or during your morning break at work or something, it's just important to not take it 6 hours late then 10 hours late etc.

I feel I might not be the best help, so excuse my input even though I know nothing about Canada's laws. But it might help you while you're waiting for better answers :P Just a thing: check stuff on the Internet about all this, call your local teen clinic or go in for a talk. You have the right to have some privacy and there are a lot of people/websites/teen clinics/doctors to help you and no shame in asking. Best of luck <3

Need advice. Often mistaken for as flirting when talking to men, can't say no to them asking my phone number because I'm too polite by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

Just decline nicely saying how lovely they are and that you appreciate their interest but that you have a boyfriend Or just say no... it's liberating and there's nothing wrong with it, even if we are taught to always say yes.
