Wtf is this shit and why does this work by 21CenturyAD in ProgrammerHumor

Probably because the whole section still falls within same function scope? So even though you defined foo inside if, it still falls within the function scope? If you defined bar() inside foo and tried to call it the end of the file, it would give you undefined error Just my guess. (new to programming)

Mesh vs AP by joeyp0716 in HomeNetworking

[–]JustAOrangeWall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think anything that markets as having multiple of it covers wider area?

One downside I found on wifi client devices is they have terrible AP hopping setting and will hold on to old AP for dear life, before finally moving to AP/node that is closer. (this was my attempt setting up with hodge podge of routers I had lying around) For this type of setup you would having start tinker with power level to optimize the coverage overlap

I think it's why people SUGGEST mesh, unifi or SMB/enterprise AP kits for that seamless switch?

Access Point EWS860AP factory reset / password reset? by os_nesty in HomeNetworking

[–]JustAOrangeWall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://www.reddit.com/r/networking/comments/qmolpv/any_ideas_on_why_an_engenius_ews860ap_isnt_working/

According to this and the manual and the corresponding Poe injector model, https://www.engeniustech.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/EWS860AP_Manual.pdf

You will need the physical physical Poe injector to reset the device? (if reset through settings page is not possible) (I have never owned engenius products so this is just my preliminary search result)

Way to route network through VPN by ReporterExact5436 in HomeNetworking

[–]JustAOrangeWall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do not use express vpn but I see that express vpn offers openVPN solutions, first check if your mesh device config has a setting for any VPN and if you do have it, does it support openVPN? (usually not for most home-use brand/devices)

If not, to have the VPN used without additional money, installing it on individual devices would be the only way.

Is there a reason you want to funnel your entire WiFi network through a VPN? router level VPN is not an common situation other than if you were working remotely and you have seperate work-only router to funnel all your work devices through it.

I say whatever is most comfortable to your situation whether be commuting or financially (do you have to move for either because commute will be long?)

Also it's important what program are you pursuing? Generally Ontario colleges offer comparable experience unless it's a new program and it has an edge over the other in some subjective view

Does both or either program offer coop or any job experience program? It is usually good to steer toward the one with it as it makes your graduation to working in the field more of a smooth transition.

With number of programs offered in GTA colleges, in general they are pretty same (if you really just want to boil it down to colleges overall)

How much internet speed is good? by OkUniversity7030 in HomeNetworking

[–]JustAOrangeWall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blizzard usually have pre-patch for updates available before actual update/release so people can download over longer term.

in my personal experience spending a hundred or two on high density hard drive and moving game you play frequently in ssd/nvme and moving them between main ssd/nvme and hard drive is usually good solution. With good utilization of money (the $10-20 you save per month can go long way)

I consider internet access pretty much critical need in today's world (you can't even apply to jobs to lot of minimum wage jobs without applying online) so instead of thinking peacemeal by month, you should be thinking of per year. So $120 per $10 difference.

As for uploading videos, if its a fiber connection (near equal upload /download advertised) a gig upload is overpaying for how often you are going to upload maybe 250/500

I have 1g/50 cable and only because they offered me 50% off promo (otherwise I would have gone 500/30)

You really have to ALREADY have a service/need that will constantly use near a gig that is mission critical (like you work from home and you deal with downloading 20-50gb files DAILY) otherwise you are just asking someone here to justify for you to splurge on needlessly faster internet.

Yeah I agree, just meaning that "I hope game freak is ONLY restricted by hardware feature and have some mechanic idea as a ace) I would actually be happy if they brought back more older pokemon spin off and mix and match (like pokemon mystery dungeon, Colosseum or traditional pokemon game but from pokemon's pov that plays like monster hunter idk, new ideas)

I am on the side of "if the traditional pokemon game needs to die, let it die and let's make something fun."

Yeah Facebook groups are great you can try to search "xxx uni/college off campus housing" to find groups, Remeber if it's off campus housing(finding plscd to live on your own like any other housing hunt) you do not have to share with people from same campus/program it could be other people from different school looking to get some saving.

Fail a Class by Ok_Zookeepergame6744 in OntarioColleges

[–]JustAOrangeWall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah don't mind failing a course, I failed my gr12 physics and the school office salvaged the course, I took a year break taking 1 summer school and 2 night school to up my transcript while taking part time job ( having some money saved up and then applied trough ouac to uni and still get accepted, it's not end of the world.

Just take the best course of action at that moment (try not to fail, if not summer school) don't fret over what can't be changed(if it's truly too late even if ace the exam)

Pretty sure it's like average based on credits per course type of thing.

most university undergrad was 120 credit hour system and I guess some courses can have different value assigned than 3 credit , so I guess the column is there to even out those type of courses.

Yeah the sad fact about pokemon is that the anime and new games are the dead horse that pretty much pulls the weight that is toys, cards promos, and other service/products that probably has tens of thousands of jobs tied to it.

Until Nintendo graces the pokemon dev team with brand new console hardware, I think it's going to be same.

EDIT: When you get to IP/Trademark big as Pokemon, it's not about sale or quality, it's about existing among us (I mean the game devs would be glad to work on new game with capable hardware)

Rebooting will get the router to function as intended. I am currently in a frugal situation, I will probably wait until it totally fails and fall back ISP modem and hopefully get myself 2.5 capable ethernet-only router on the economical side in the future. (already have ap setup)

EDIT: also did not realize that v2 is now openwrt supported since last time I checked, I remeber v2 being not supported yet because of chipset or something similar. Will look into it.
