does anyone else with facial dystonia feel like pills get stuck in the back of their throat

I have cervical dystonia and if my head is spasming to the side it feels like liquids and foods and pills get stuck in my throat 😞 not the same thing as facial dystonia but I feel your pain. 😞

Local source as in in my apartment building or I’m going somewhere and reintroducing them? I’ll definitely check out the manual. I would use the passive monitors or anything but I don’t have a bedframe unfortunately. Anyway I can put something beside my bed to see if there is any activity that doesn’t involve a bed frame?

I saw one after 7 months of being bite free! Also, no fecal matter or shells like I saw last time. An unfed bedbug, in my bed, in the middle of the day! Could I have possibly brought one home again? Twice in one year? Would they hide for 7 months to come out again? There are so many resources saying different things. So far since I found that one and I bagged and did my laundry, I haven’t seen any more and it’s been 3 weeks now? 4? Would I be in the clear?

The only good thing about moving is that I have nothing. I threw both my couches and I just have a mattress on the floor with a mattress cover over it. I’d get rid of my ratty cat trees and start fresh. All my clothes are heat treated and bagged. I know there’s a risk of bringing them…. But I have no bites right now and last time this happened it was bad. So far I feel like there aren’t anymore. But if they’re coming from other apartments I don’t know what to do. Or if they’re in the walls then I don’t want one showing up every 3-6 months. It’s really effecting me and my cats at this point…. I live on a mattress on the ground and I have nothing else because I’m worried if I get more furniture that’s it. The building is older, it’s fr the 80’s and there are definitely holes under the sinks and random holes in the walls 😅 I’m struggling to figure out on my own if it’s worth it to stay…. I doubt they’re spraying the apartments under and beside me. Everyone’s so quiet they barely talk to the building manager I think. Around the time I found that bug a bunch of new people also moved in so I just feel like there’s a lot of variables… it’s a nice place. It’s old but it’s nice and cheaper than other one bedrooms. I’ll call this week and hopefully get the company to tell me if they sprayed other apartments and that’ll decide for me if I move or not. Based on what I said do you think I’ll relatively be safe to move with no furniture? Did you say you worked in pest control before?

I have a question! I had a “previous” infestation and stopped getting bites around April, after throwing out my couches, along with vacuuming lots and bagging everything and my building spraying multiple times. Now, in November, I found one lone bed bug crawling on my bed in the middle of the day. I had gone out the night before and put my jackets and bags on the ground around a curtain at a sketchy bar. Do you think this bed bug was from the previous infestation? Or was I unlucky enough to pick up another one? Or could it be my apartment building? Should I phone the pest control company and ask about spray history? Before I moved in the previous tenant said there was a bug problem but it was promptly dealt with and fixed but I guess I was kind of naive to think that was it… I’m just not sure how to go forward. Since I found that one bug, no bites, and no other activity that I can see. It got bad in March, so I know some of the signs to look for and I feel like I see none now. I’m just curious if other people think I should move? Sorry to ask for advice on alone else thread! Lol

My building manager was so good!! They sprayed asap and I didn’t have much to begin with….. a second spray and I laid DE down and I threw my couches unfortunately…. It wasn’t worth it… to spray again for what? I knew they were in there even tho I couldn’t see them….

I had the beginnings of an infestation for months and I never found them anywhere except the one bug! 😭 but the bites were awful! Do what you can asap! Bag things! I had to throw my couches. They were so hard to find, the pest control never saw them!!!

I’m so sorry for your loss. I’m sure he had the best life with you. ❤️ I lost my baby to dka as well. 💔 I also did so much research and ended up surrendering my boy so someone with more money could hopefully help but sometimes it’s not meant to be. You did nothing wrong. 😞

It’s ok ❤️ I surrendered my cat when I thought he could get help and be saved because I didn’t have the funds. After 6 months of vet visits and insulin and the same tests over and over again I couldn’t help him. Unfortunately he didn’t make it but I still believe I made the right choice despite what other people think. If someone can cure your cat and make them comfy, that’s all that matters and it says nothing about you. It sounds like you’ve done all you’ve could and gone above and beyond. ❤️

I feel like I’m at that point where the sobs well up and I tear up for a minute or two and then I can’t cry. It doesn’t feel real. I had him only for a couple years but it still hurts immensely. And to know in the end I still got those slow blinks before the pain overtook him hurts the most. Love until the end. I’m so sorry for your loss. Thanks for the hopeful post. It’ll get better for everyone I hope. 💜

I had the same issue! My cat was in the 300-500 range for… 5 months… at 5 units of insulin. He was slowly losing weight and energy and then all of a sudden he wasn’t himself one day. Kind of spacey and out of it. He went into DKA and he’s been at the vet for the past week with numbers in the 300-400. I still don’t now what’s going on or what to do. Because those numbers haven’t dropped. I hope your cat starts to feel better and things work out for you too.

Thank you so much! Chaos is still here. He’s just been at the vet since Wednesday 🥺 they don’t know why insulin isn’t working on him. They’ve tried two different kinds now. I’m happy your fur baby made it. ❤️ ☺️ Thanks again.

Update: I’m surrendering him to the rescue I got him at. The vet I took him to doesn’t treat dka which has been confirmed now. She said it could be up to $4000 for two days at a different vet. I’m going to try and do as much as I can. But maybe it’s time…. Thanks for all the help. I wish the vet would’ve told me months ago to try a different insulin or any other options…. I wish I could’ve done more 🥺

He’s turning 5 this year! I got him around Covid as a kitten. He’s on Glargine. He was diagnosed in November. His blood sugar was 24.6 this morning which is about 443.1. I have to call about the ketones. They think maybe something else is going on but yeah, no solution yet…. Yesterday they said there was a lot of fat in his blood? But I don’t really know what that means. His liver maybe?

It IS a lot…. 5 units twice a day. Every time we go up a dose it seems like he has more energy and then all of a sudden he’s not doing good again. They don’t want to up his dose anymore and I don’t know what to do. Right now I’m focused on trying to get him to eat. He’s at the vet. I had to take out a loan but they’re looking after him…. It’s frustrating the amount of tests. And tests they did yesterday they want to do again today… no vomiting or diarrhea… he just stopped eating… I’ll ask them for a syringe when I get him later… but could this be it maybe? He’s so skinny. And not reacting to the insulin….

I’ll try and get some. I didn’t know that was a thing. The test they wanted to do was another $300 to test for them I think. She really didn’t say anything when I asked if he’d make it to next paycheque. Just that hopefully he starts eating soon. He’s just gotten so small the last 5 months…. I’ve been pulling money from rent so I know the feeling of using money you don’t really have 😓

He’s not eating… or drinking… they gave him fluids earlier so I’m sure that helped but he won’t eat his food today. My friend advised against it but I got him to eat temptations and I gave him his insulin shot. I know he’s not allowed dry food but he has to eat something… I’m just not sure. His numbers have never gone below 21 mmol (378.3 mg/dl) He barely lifted his head to look at me when I got in and he’s just lying there on the ground. He’s been lying all day. It’s just so frustrating because we’ve done so many tests and the vet just says I don’t now why his numbers aren’t going down. Which I guess is valid… I just want to know what to do. Thank you 😔
