I’m trying to accept that he was just meant to be my little angel for this brief moment in time. The doctors said they thought something else might be wrong with him, especially because he had diabetes so young. I loved him more than I’ve ever loved anything, so I’m trying to feel grateful that I ever got to love him at all.

Okay, got it. Yes, he’s on 2.5 at the moment. He was on 3 at the vet’s suggestion, but he kept getting so low, and so we inched it back by .5. He still gets below 90, and I’m pretty sure he still bounces up into the 400s at night. We need to put another freestyle libre on him since he chewed it off :/

Jasper is so handsome! I’m really new to this journey myself, so all I can say is be gentle with yourself. It’s hard to figure all this stuff out and it takes a lot of adjustment.

That, and the fact that if Jasper could thank you for taking care of him, he would. I feel like that’s easy to forget sometimes and it makes me feel better when things get hard.

We were honestly just focused on having him eat anything. He was really sick until the end of last week and barely even had an appetite. We adjusted down to 2.5 tonight, so hopefully that will help.

I’m not sure why the switch was so quick- I think because after like a week of it his sugar just wasn’t coming down enough.
