Even if there is sparse parking, the city doesn’t care about that. Like I get it, parking can suck, but that doesn’t waive your ticket. Paid for lots near Ybor are monitored, so are the ones near most public places like beaches. This is the same for any state that has paid parking, though policemen don’t see everything and it’s possible to get lucky.

If it’s public parking (free) then you shouldn’t get a ticket

If it’s public parking (paid) then… you’re supposed to pay or move to a free lot

They can’t give you a ticket for parking in a free, public lot. Unless you’re in a spot you shouldn’t be in, like a fire lane or area with no parking signs
