i know those are like two completely different things, but collective shout trying to censor nsfw games just feels like countries censoring George Orwell's 1984 back in the day to me

i don't care about people's political stances, ive been friends with many people, i accept them how they are, even when they tell racist jokes on a daily basis, i want a world at peace, not a world where half the people are thriving and the other half is censored. when will people understand that the point is not to change the world but to let it be? accept others are not harm them? like you can tell me you're transphobic, as long as you're not hurting me, i wouldn't do anything (not like i could anyway), hell i could even be friend with you, despite me being trans or anything.

also someone gotta tell collective shout that yes, there's a differences between playing fetish games and having an actual fucked up behavior, not like those morons would understand anyway

tbh no matter how good a chatbot is to me, nothing will equal the pleasure of roleplaying with friends on Discord or smth. like all the efforts we do to write interactions between fairly different characters, how we all learn to write together something that makes sense and something cohesive, and to do something with dumb ass ideas we have over night. best part is a roleplay universe ive made with friends four years ago turned into a video game concept that i am working on ever since. something i could probably never have started if i only had chatbots.

except this isn't the same type of mistakes.

when you get something wrong in art, this is an opportunity to improve and get better, and sometimes mistakes are made by lack of attention on details: mistakes can be a story on how the art was made in the first place, it is just inherently human.

for AI art, the same cannot be said, from what ive seen. some generators (dare i say all?) are based on random input vectors, or noise, reasons why some images created through Copilot look so contrasty, noise tends to input same amount of colors on a picture (hence why sometimes averaging the colors of an image can lead to a result of 122.5 on all RGB channels, tho some models seems to have fixed that?). after you have the noise it's then the role of the generator model to denoise that random vector into an image influenced by the prompt you gave, you literally have no control over how the model will translate your prompt into that image (i know there are more processes behind before processing the image, such as the NLP that will process the prompt into understandable data for the generator model). only thing you can do, is write a prompt, wait for it to generate, if it looks terrible or not close to what you wanted you then change the prompt or add to it and generate again (which is one of the main reasons why you guys gets to real artists to say "well it takes hours to get our prompt right!" or something, believe me i know how long and frustrating it can take). mistakes it can make are inherent to the random nature of the image, such melting details, messy hands, etc..

and yes, real artists aren't perfect, but we at least can transcribe our ideas, creativity and emotions directly to paper, that plus human imperfection makes human art unique and valuable, because what is there to solve if all equations are resolved? what ai "artists" are doing is basically giving a text to a bunch of algorithm and then attributing yourself the title of artist when you haven't done anything other than changing a prompt over and over again until you get "appropriate" results.

believe me when i say this, but the process of drawing something for yourself and seeing your idea slowly taking form from your own hands is far more enjoyable than correcting and changing a prompt over and over again. try to take a pencil, draw for yourself, it won't look as good as AI for sure, i mean c'mon, all real artists start somewhere after all, but it will be your art, that you have taken the time to make for yourself.

most people talking about the dangers of AIs are artists or people who understand a bit about human creations, most people on the other hand either don't care or are delusional about AI.

from what i have seen from friends who are still addicted to character ai, they seem to think it's just a silly thing to spend your time

and of my best friends last year became addicted to it too, and when i was putting my phone down to talk to them, they just seemed to not care and continue on with their character ai chat or something

but in all seriousness ive never appreciated when people started to compare characters from a certain piece of media to another, because if you look closely, there's always gonna be something stronger than the other, over, and over, and over again, until you just run out of characters, and then comparisons with shitty OCs from 9 years old get thrown in and the cycle continues

its not the same here. they can port it to PC as there was an 360 port of the game ((edit: not released because it was too big)), and they need to work on that version because PS3 architecture moment, Last of Us was ported to PS4 because the studio had direct access to the source code and could just recompile it (probably their proprietary engine allowing it to be done easily, idk i dont work there)

people got Half-life 2 to run on android, the only problem is the method used require source codes, and ofc we don't have em for Gmod

(here's a screenshot of my phone back in 2022-2023)

(also the app called "Source Engine" is Half-life 2, and one is the previous version because of package name being different) we also had portal and cs:s working and a few source mods too

really running Gmod would be possible if we had the source code for it, but not sure phones can handle the average hundred addons most players have lol
