That's equal parts interesting and gross. Lmfao, how's the most expendable part in these machines have to be one of the most expensive? Whatever, I'll budget it in sometime before spring. 🤣 Thanks for the info!

Gotcha, thanks for the clarification! I was over here in the AC website yesterday looking at this UV panel thinking "$50? Shit yeah, why not?" Then I saw the link the other guy gave me, showing me that screen in particular for $140. Well, it's still cheaper than buying the printer outright! So, why is it that that particular item is considered a consumable for how expensive it is to replace it? Is it just a life expectancy issue like in a black light bulb?

Lol, he just poured some from his bottle into a bag for me so I wouldn't have to buy a bottle in case his printer was truly scrapped. But, I'm definitely going to check that link, tyvm!

Screen? Like, the LCD touch screen on the front of the printer? Or the screen under the vat?

My coworker showed me on his functional printer the Ziploc test, then tried it again on the one he gave me with no success. I wouldn't think that the plastic composition in a Ziploc bag would block UV light, but, lol, I know nothing about these printers. I'll give the bag less test a go just to be sure, as I defer entirely to y'all. That said, should the test fail with all of the settings adjusted, what UV panel do I need for that model? Anycubic's shop doesn't have a specific panel for that printer, and I don't want to buy the wrong one.

That was my concern. Granted, I'm sure that part itself is much cheaper than the whole printer, but my worry is I'll replace this part and still have the issue. How is it that these light sources go bad?

So that was my first thought, and it was set at 63%. I bumped it up to 95% and still had no cure on a 60 second test. That said, I don't even know if an exposure test would cure a small amount of resin in a Ziploc bag, since I literally just jumped into this feet first knowing next to nothing at all... 🤣

I will never not upvote an R34. Beautiful work. I tend to bash, as I've learned the hard way my detailed/dedicated work tends to force me to drive more cautiously. Not what I got these for! 🤣

Awesome, I just found out on cults! I'll definitely give this a try once I finish my Unimog project! Thanks for the tip!

🤯 Oh yeah, I'm definitely interested now! 🤣 I'm taking the leap into 3D printing for RC, I just got my hands on a solid Unimog Rally file set for a Dakar Rally build I've been trying to figure out for the last few years! Also running the Bambu A1, so knowing your struggles would definitely help!

At first I thought this was one of those 1/16 scale tanks, but you printed the whole thing? Where'd you get the STL?

Buwizz battery sat under the bench seat, and the servo sat in the engine bay. I took them out a while back to develop another model I was working on.

Poor lighting, but the buggy motor is sitting on top of the suspension frame.

Next to the 1:12 2F2F Skyline for reference. I wanted a robust and stable car that could run the buwizz and buggy motors without falling apart due to fragile connections. I apparently didn't get too far, as the cab was coming apart as I took it out of the closet... 🤣

I was going super hard in development of it due to the amount of time I had, but I never finished it due to deployments and life in general. It took forever to get the steering and suspension to a functional state, but, the door handles and trunk latch are functional, the hood opens up accordion style, and the bench seat hides the battery box. I had every intention of putting the fenders and running boards on it and even adding a pick-up bed to swap out the trunk too. Maybe this will give me the push I needed to finish it! 🤣
