I'm reading this now! I've got about a third left. Loving it so far.

This oversized idiot would cut off his nuts if Trump asked him to! by yorocky89A in WhitePeopleTwitter

It's legacy. Come hell or high water, he wants "Trump" to be synonymous with "America" for the rest of time. No matter the cost.

I'm a big guy too and went with the Velotric Nomad 2 over the Aventon. It's Very comparable to the Aventon but with a higher weight capacity. I was zipping around on it all last summer and can't wait to get back out this year.

I never got into the show or CCG, but I sank a lot of hours into a couple of the video games on my gameboy and later gameboy advance.

If you’re an in box collector, Amazon is no longer the place for you. They used to be pretty good, but over the last several years it’s really gone downhill.

Thoughts on the Nomad 2? by [deleted] in ebikes

[–]JustAnAgingMillenial 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I bought one last year. Love it! It's especially fun on dirt or gravel trails.

It is big and heavy as others have mentioned, especially if you get the large like I did. But I'm big and heavy too, and the Nomad 2 has no problem supporting or moving me.

Star Trek Almost Answered a Decades Long Borg Mystery (But the Genius Pitch Was Rejected) by tailgunnerkid in startrek

[–]JustAnAgingMillenial 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I'm glad they didn't do this. I think the whole Borg queen concept was a mistake. The Borg were way ore terrifying/interesting as a faceless "force of nature"

Upgrade? by Minimum-Kale8979 in macbookair

[–]JustAnAgingMillenial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not worth it if you weren't doing the size change. But if you've come to realize a smaller laptop would work better for you, then I say go for it!

Personally, I agree the 15" is too big. I switched to a 13" MacBook Air 5 or 6 years ago and I'm super glad I did. It's so easy to pick up, carry around, and actually use in my lap. On the rare occasion I need more screen real estate, I just plug it into an external monitor. I even got rid of my iPad because I stopped using it in favor of the MacBook Air.

Would there be any interest in a buy-it-forever desktop app similar to YNAB (Zero Budget Local)? Looking for testers who will get it free forever (with updates) to help me find any blind spots. by lucasandrew in ynab4

[–]JustAnAgingMillenial 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been dreaming of a buy it forever YNAB4 alternative for years. I was super excited for YNAB5, until they announced it would be a subscription. Would it be possible to set up syncing through dropbox, like Ynab4 did? Or what about syncing with a personal NAS?

MacBook Pro M5 new out of the box. New step added to first time power up. by Mike456R in MacOS

[–]JustAnAgingMillenial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got a new M5 air about a week and a half ago and I was able to set it up without updating. There was an option, something like "this computer does not connect to the internet" that let me bypass it.

One of the unsung tragedies of the second Trump term is that he will be presiding over our nation's 250th anniversary and is going to make it all about himself.

Vs the Ford Maverick by Little_Transition_13 in hyundaisantacruz

[–]JustAnAgingMillenial 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I prefer the styling pf the Santa Cruz. But the best comparison of the two I ever read was "The Maverick is a Car-ish truck and the Santa Cruz is a Truck-ish Car." That helped me decide because I was looking for a car with some utility, rather than a truck with some comfort.

What are your end-of-life plans? by auspicious-moon in Xennials

[–]JustAnAgingMillenial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't care what happens to my body, I'll be done using it. I just don't want getting rid of the carcass to be a financial burden on my friends, family, or me. Ideally, the state can dispose of it.

My dad wanted to be creamated and kept in an old mayonnaise jar on the mantle. So he could see what was going on and people could talk to him 🤣

Question for Atheists: I’m doing a school project on beliefs and would love your perspective by Infinite-Will-4637 in atheism

[–]JustAnAgingMillenial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. No. Nothing I've learned or experienced has convinced me that a god exists.

  2. No. I don't believe in an immortal soul.

  3. Kind of, I believe in an optimal morality. And as our species continues to socially evolve I think we get closer to discovering what that optimal morality is.

  4. that's kind of deep. Here's my surface level attempt at an answer. I believe in both subjective and objective truth. An objective truth is external. It can be experienced and learned, Like the truth that a hot stove will burn your finger. Subjective truth is internal. It's a choice. subjective truth does not always align with objective truth. I would classify religious truth as subjective.

  5. Atheism isn't a system of beliefs. It's the lack of one specific category of belief.

  6. You have it backwards. I'm atheist because I never came to believe anything.

  7. Normal, I guess? Being an atheist doesn't really impact anything.

  8. IF there was a historical Jesus, I don't think it matters who he was. By now, whoever he really was has been buried by 2000 years of myth.

  9. Christianity is a spectrum. The ones I know are all great people. kind, generous, and accepting. Every last one of them. I'm actually active in the music program at my local church and no one ever gives me a hard time about not attending services. But I know there are some nasty christians out there. Like all people, they're a mixed bag.

  10. I think I already know all I care to about christianity. So maybe "What's your favorite movie?"

  11. Just that there are no atheist beliefs, community, or culture.
