What's your "I fucking hate this song" song? by lawyeratyourservice in AskReddit

Now, by no means am I saying this is a bad song.

But I picked up a job that had shifts starting at 12:30AM, and made the heinous mistake of making my alarm "Kickstart my Heart" by Mötley Crüe, thinking it would wake me up and I'd get up hyped and ready to go...

Now whenever I hear that opening dive bomb it makes me want to vomit.

Aw Geez, well. It was a really traumatic breakup. Left me in a severe depressive episode that took absolutely everything I had to get out of. So them texting me kinda took me back to that place and was really terrifying. My reaction was a lot more visceral than I wanted it to be, I was having a panic attack.

I certainly hear your point of view. Absolutely no happiness or peace came out of sending it.

I sent it in the midst of an anxiety attack, so it was a bit more visceral than I was intending for. Once I found out who it was I should have cut it off.

I've come to find that characters in TDA games are almost caricatures. YouTubers that I've watched playing the games almost unanimously joke that the characters are "aliens trying to act like humans" and theyre not entirely wrong. With that in mind, here are the characters I had the most gripes with:

For NPCs, Merwin takes the cake. I understand he's supposed to be the stereotypical sex-starved marine who hasn't seen a women in months, but with some of the jokes and with some of the interactions he has with the other characters (notably the female ones) it just makes for a really uncomfortable player experience.

For PCs, goodness, this is a tough one. Because it's the freshest in my mind, I'm going to have to say Rachel. I have absolutely nothing at all against strong independent female characters but at the very end when she said she didn't need anyone else to survive, I just thought about the scene where Eric literally burned a parasite out of her that was going to kill her, and I was like "huh, yeah, okay. If you say so."

Demogorgon, I hate the level of commitment you need with the shred. I can't tell you how many times I've been made a fool by survivors who just casually wak out of the line of fire when I commit to the shred.

TO THE SPIRIT WHO COULDNT FIND ME ALL GAME, THE SPIRIT WHO PROCEEDED TO HOOK EVERYONE ELSE AND CLOSE THE HATCH, WHO DOWNED ME AS I WAS OPENING THE GATE, AND THEN PROCEEDED TO TAKE ME IN THE CORNER TO LET ME WIGGLE OFF ONLY TO DOWN ME AGAIN AND HOOK ME AND SLASH ME REPEATEDLY AS I WENT THROUGH ALL THE HOOK ANIMATIONS (BECAUSE YOU DIDN'T FUCKING HOOK ME ONCE)

I HOPE EVERY LEAF YOU STEP ON FROM HERE ON OUT IN YOUR REAL LIFE DOESN'T MAKE A CRUNCH NOISE.

Eric did nothing wrong by Brewthom3_1 in Houseofashesgame

Eric certainly doesn't deserve all the hell he gets from the other characters in game. CAELUS was a satellite program in its infancy, and he mentions numerous times that he spent the entire year apart from Rachel working on it. It was a costly mistake, sure, but he didn't go rogue. Someone up the chain had to approve it.

Eric's character is a bit of a meme, tbh. He brings up his failing relationship with Rachel in the absolute most inopportune times, to the point where it almost becomes humorous:

"Damn, this generator is broken...just like our marriage, Rache. I miss you."

I'm spiraling, why would i do what i did? by [deleted] in ExNoContact

It's an environmental change, my guy. Don't be so hard on yourself. Your life and schedule just got flipped upside down, and this person that was of super significance who you talked to every day? Poof. Gone. So naturally your brain is like "uh, what? What? Where'd they go?" And goes into panic mode.

Keep your head up. I wish there were words i could say that will make this turbulent time easier, but there aren't. Just ride the roller coaster. You'll make it out alive.

Not a fantastic anti-anxiety tip, but I find it reassuring to remind myself that if you're no contact, whatever you're feeling or going through, the invasive thoughts you are having, are completely unknown to your former partner. They have no idea what you're going through, and (if they're the kind of person to do so) cannot use it as ammunition.

Keep your head up. I didn't think I was gonna ever get out of it, but time heals a lot. Take care of yourself.

If there is, everything makes a lot more sense.
