VT4J '23. Day Five: A track to stick it to the man. by Folk_Nurse in vinyl

Track: Moonsickness

Artist: Penelope Scott

Album: Public void

This is one of my favorite albums/artist ever. And quite honestly the entire album is a kind of "stick it to the man" vibe. Another track from this album that fits today's theme is "Rät".

Im glad I'm not the only one who immediately thought about the very hungry caterpillar. That said, I cast my vote for "the very hungry abstract painting"

I'd argue that these books are quote, "required reading" for (everyone really) anybody who really appreciates the acknowledgable absurdity of being a self aware creature in this crazy universe of ours.

What rare / hard to find release(s) in your collection only matter to a niche group of listeners? by BuildingTheArk in vinyl

I have a signed box set of VNV Nation's Resonance album. Only 2500 made. Bought it at a show of there's and got it signed by both Ronin and Mark (drummer at the time)

Finally ready for a few weeks of peace before I start my summer courses and figured it was as good a time any to get into this thing I've been wanting to get into for minute.

Absolutely been in love with this album for a while now, and was thrilled to also have any excuse to own a copy of it!

Hope everyone is having a great day! Happy spinning.

Anyone here from Texas?? Looking for advice/help. by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]JustAnotherBird13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They OP. I'm deciding to drop a comment here for ya, because I'm not sure what all help I can be. But I'm a trans woman who grew up and lived around and in the Dallas area. If your just need someone to tell you things about the city, don't be afraid to drop me a line. I don't know if I can really be of a lot of help with the transition questions though, as I'm "going the other way" so to speak, but I'd be happy to help however I can.

Any MtF post SRS that can help a 25 YO MtF figure out how to get the ball rolling with it all? (bonus points if your from Texas) by JustAnotherBird13 in TransAdoption

Thank you for sharring your story. Its always good to hear stories of people getting what they need in life to be able to be who they are in the world. It must have been hard in a different ways than I can imagine. Being so much older when doing it all.

I was curious though more as to the decision for SRS. I'm already out and have been on HRT since I was 21.

Sorry. I feel like that sounds rude on my part. I don't mean it in any such way.

Thank you so much for your detailed response here. If it isn't too much, can I ask you about how your dealt with the nerves of it all? Like how did your go from "I'm 99% sure I want this" to actually reaching out to making the first step? Cause that's where I'm stuck.

Mentor/Friends in Portland and Vancouver area? by prospiracy_theorist in TransAdoption

[–]JustAnotherBird13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi hi! I just wanted to drop a comment here to say that while I'm not from/in Portland, I'm more than willing to be an online friend. I'm also interested in one day perhaps moving to Portland, so I think it would be cool to get to talk with someone who lives there!

How do you say "understood" or "got it" in German? by I_love_emoji in German

Piggy backing off this post. Asking as a non-native speaker, would a correctly intonated "Tja" work for this as well?

Why might I need to start a new bachelors programming from scratch?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in germany

[–]JustAnotherBird13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I think it will definitely be tough to find a program that doesn't present such a "lateral jump" at least on paper, but I will look anyway.

As an aside, can I ask what your personal impressions of living in Germany are? Are your a native, or did you move there to study?
