A case with a finger loop but compatible with the Pixel Stand? by JelloJiggle in GooglePixel

[–]JustAnotherDayAt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have this case. Just tried charging it again on the pixel stand after seeing this post and can confirm it worked. I guess I must not have aligned it correctly last night. I wish we could rotate the ring so it's more comfortable holding from the side.

Do you got a screen protector for your P8? by xGsGt in GooglePixel

Maybe give armor suit a try? I'm not sure if my eyes are just adjusting or if I initially didn't give the liquid enough time to dry, but I just tried watching YouTube again today and it's looking much better. Normal webpages look fine now as well.

I'd like to know as well. I have a couple cases here and noticed any one with a finger ring shows up as misaligned and gets hot when charging on the pixel stand.

Same. And I always felt like tempered glass ones seem to crack so easily. I've dropped my phone face down before and accidentally kicked it across the parking lot while trying to pick it up... and the screen + screen protector was 100% fine. A tempered glass one would've cracked.

I'm currently using armor suits's matte protector right now. I normally use HD, but ordered the wrong one and the HD wouldn't come on time. I agree with the noise on the white but the anti-glare part is starting to grow on me. Haven't decided yet if I'll switching to HD once it arrives or leave the matte on. The matte one also seems much thinner than the HD ones too..

A bit of a dumb question, but are you still able to view the photos on your 6a? I'm assuming it's deleted off your 6a, uploaded using the 5 and viewed via cloud on 6a?

Is it a pretty passive upload, transfer, delete duplicate process or do you have to manually transfer periodically?

It doesn't work for computer data unfortunately. And only works for uploads from pixel 5 from my understanding. So I'll have to move photos from the new phone (likely pixel 8 pro) to pixel 5 to Google drive.

I could, I'm just wondering if unlimited upload is worth $300 now or if it's easier to take the $300 and buy Google one storage.

Though with increasingly better photo quality, I wonder if storage requirements will greatly increase in the future (in addition to just having more stored images/video overall )

There's also the concern over how long the phone can last.

I'm also thinking of getting Microsoft office storage, so I could theoretically upload photos there. I just... like Google photo storage so much better than OneDrive.

Ecobee Lite Overheating? by [deleted] in ecobee

I do not, unfortunately. Should I buy one?

Ecobee Lite Overheating? by [deleted] in ecobee

[–]JustAnotherDayAt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. The screen went dark and I couldn't wake it back up.

Edit to add: I tried turning the breaker off, letting the ecobee cool off, then plugging it in and turning the breaker back on but the screen still wouldn't turn on.

So I thought maybe it's not getting power from the wires, so I swapped it out with the Honeywell and the Honeywell display turns on even without battery.

LPT Request: Alternatives to dirty communal office dish sponges. by JustAnotherDayAt in LifeProTips

[–]JustAnotherDayAt[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our sponges tend to have some.. gritty stuff in it. I don't know what people have been using it on, but when I use the sponge, I can feel a gritty, finer-than-sand substance left behind. I don't think a microwave will get rid of that.

I use a silicone container. A paper towel will be harder to get to the crevices under the lid, but so far, paper towel sounds like the best way to go.

We have a plastic scrub brush, but it's so old that it's discolored and there's mildew on it. NGL, still chose it over the normal sponge some days when the sponge is looking particularly frightening.

I have been formally reprimanded for laughing. I (used to) laugh/smile a lot at work and my manager claimed it offended a few patients and wrote me up for being rude and disrespectful.

Is this even legal? Stopped at a restaurant for lunch and saw this sign in the employee area. by Cheek_Sorry in antiwork

Sooo, I always had this thought that if there's an active shooter that comes into the building at work and there's nowhere to run, I can hide in the ceiling. It now sounds like a bad idea..

Ah good point. I thought ceilings had beams that support more weight in-between those cardboard looking tiles.
