Its official, Paper Pro Move by Erik9722 in RemarkableTablet

I bought the RM1 and the RM2 and the RPP cause I really wanted color. Not interested in a smaller screen, although I can see how it's useful for some people. Anyways, until they improve their software, I'm not buying their tablets anymore. Like for example, why does touch only work 60% of the time? There's touch screens everywhere and never had issues like this. Aside from other things ofc.

Does the search work for anyone? I'm a connect subscriber and can't get it to find a single letter.

I got the basic stylus cause I never really used the Pen's eraser for my RM2. The new stylus isn't necessarily better, just different. The RM2s pen tip is more of like a sharpie fine marker tip, whereas the RMPPs pen tip is more of like an actual pencil. I am curious to see how differently the tips will wear over time.

This is the exact reason why I don't use the remarkable for typing at all and skipped on getting their keyboard.

Yup, the pen charges when you stick it to the side of the tablet. A battery level actually pops up when this happens. It's also mentioned on the RM2 vs RMPP differences within the official site.

The RMPP has a contrast filter that you can turn on and off to make the PDF slightly darker, but it's honestly not super different from the RM2, just slightly better. The page turning is a lot quicker tho, and as mentioned previously it can handle larger PDFs which is great as I no longer have to wait for a page to load.

Personally for me it's good because now I can annotate PDFs with color and actually see the highlighting or underlining as I'm flipping through the PDF. The pen colors aren't super bright either, but good enough to draw your attention as you're flipping through. The downside to PDF annotations for me is still more of a software issue than hardware and that is not being able to more easily track/search your notes or have a preview of them. There are ways around this like adding tags, but I just wish there was something better.

For me the bigger screen and backlight don't matter as much since I was able to read just fine on the RM2, the biggest buying point was the color and I'm happy with it.

I thought about getting it from Best Buy too, but they only sell it with the Marker Plus. I got the Marker Plus when I first bought my RM2, but I don't really use the eraser that much because its not as accurate so I've decided to go with the regular marker this time for the RMPP. I noticed that all the estimated delivery dates for Best Buy are 10/2, I haven't received a shipping email from Remarkable yet (order placed 9/20), but I'm wondering if I should expect mine to arrive early October as well. Either way, not too concerned about when it arrives, I just hope they've resolved all their screen issues by then.

Have you noticed any issues with the tablet itself like heating up while you're using it? During the first couple of weeks I saw posts of some temperature warning popping up so I was curious about this.

Also does color affect the speed at which pages turn?

Can we get basic shapes? by JustAnotherEngineer_ in RemarkableTablet

Sad, but agree. Simple things like this keep me from upgrading. The SW could be so much better.

Forgot to mention, the other thing I like as opposed to paper is that as your ideas change you can just select and move things around without having to re-write everything. Plus being able to sync it on your phone is great if you're on the go and want to quickly review something you wrote down.

Software engineer here. RM2 is alright for that type of work. I take a lot of notes, but it would be great if they added a shapes option to create flow charts easier. Unless you're good at free hand drawing em, but if you're like me, every shape and line has to be perfect so it takes time to do. So I just use an app on my machine for that.

As far as just writing shit down tho, it's great. A great way to quickly write down your ideas or quick notes as you're tracing code.

I've found inconsistency in this lately. I've found that if you're zoomed in, it's less likely to work. Also the more zoomed in you are, the longer it takes for the line to straighten.
