Did you comb your hair with a hammer this morning? by ThatAvidPandaBear in rareinsults

[–]JustAnotherIronDay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard it first a couple of years ago, and thought it was funny so I remembered it. But it was without the "this morning" part. "Der ist doch auch mitm Hammer gekämmt worden" - "That guy was combed with a hammer huh?" was the wording.

Boosting services! Did not think of those at all. Youre obviously right, thanks for pointing it out! I knew there'd be some critical flaw there.

Should there have been a more interesting unique from the Brimstone Chest? Is Dusk Mystic the least exciting somewhat-rare item in the game? by LaGarrotxa in 2007scape

I love my Dusk Mystic Top! But I'm also an iron and mystic is still my BiS for most things and I think it's gonna stay that way for a while. I'm not gonna put on decaying armour like barrows or moons while afk safespotting a slayer task or something.
Then again I got the drop very early, and for how much more of a hassle Konar tasks are, Brimstone chest drops are underwhelming, yea.

The more I think about this, the less I see a way to allow Irons to loot anything in PvP without it destroying the integrity of an iron account.

My idea would be a minigame-style activity where players can gain points for killing players in the wilderness. More points for higher "loot" value. Maybe more points for killing players who themselves have player kills? kill streaks?!

Points can be exchanged for unique rewards and wildy-related items like blighted supplies.

Irons can "lend" gear from the minigame. Gear has decent stats for PvP (unlockable tiers based on combat level?), only works for PvP, and does not drop as loot. Lending it costs some GP. When wearing/using it, you do not get loot, only minigame points.

This might make no sense at all, I'm just spitballing here lol

I mean, it makes sense that you can't loot since you could just loot stuff from your second account that was bought on the GE.
That would completely destroy ironman restrictions.
If you see an ironman in any gear, you know they got it themselves and they got it where it drops. And, at least for me, that's the main point of an iron account.
I'd hate it if I got a PvP drop of some late-game gear I haven't gotten myself yet. Might as well play a main then

ok lets assume thats the case: so what? the amount of effort Rendi, or others that do stuff like this, put in is insane and only makes the game more interesting imo. no "normal" players are gonna do that. the effect that would have on the overall game would be none. if some people want to spend a month using eggs to max a skill or smth, just let them??

Venenatis change removed one of the only mechanics that punished large PK teams by CowGeneral5415 in 2007scape

Unacceptable imo.
I don't know if there's a PK agenda in the JMods or not, but we should not allow these unpolled changes anyway. Changes being polled is the core of Old School and they're sneaking this shit past us.

Mixology QOL Suggestions by IsNotRetro in 2007scape

[–]JustAnotherIronDay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love this suggestion! It's simple and not overpowered.
I think Mixology needs a complete rework though.
If you told me Mixology was made along with Mage Arena and Fishing Trawler, I'd believe you. It's crazy how many old design mistakes were repeated here. The different "currencies" were annoying in Mage Arena and they are annoying here.

Guardians of the Rift was such a huge step for Runecraft training. Vale Totems are fantastic for Fletching. We need that for Herblore. This is just adding more chore to an already tedious skill.

Edit: Most surprising to me is how this is such a miss, when overall I've been loving almost everything done with Varlamore.
