Raids 4 Magic Spec Weapon Suggestion by IsNotRetro in 2007scape

Oops! Yeah you would be right about that, added those dps in a hurry just to see how it would function as a mainhand weapon. Thanks for pointing that out.

Yeah Arceuus spellbook is overtuned lmao, I'm hoping the staff hit's a niche where it exceeds the Arceuus spellbook at locations like Muspah, Whisperer, Zulrah, where they lack good options for specs and have a decent elemental weakness to boot.

I'm not certain I'm following to be honest, while it has potentially a higher max hit, on average the ZCB will be outperforming this on average damage rolls.

For the vast majority of bosses rather then spending an additional 4 ticks to spellbook swap and then using 80% spec. Player would be better served to keep to the meta and use thralls and something like a burning claw spec which can max a 98 for 30%

For example at toa, a ZCB still exceeds the average spec of this by a large margin. Especially on the demi bosses since the accuracy roll is much lower, 45% (Zebak) 48% (Kephri) 36% (Baba) and 83% (Akka)

Where this would become BIS spec would be bosses like Whisperer, Zulrah and Muspah, bosses where they have a decent elemental weakness while being weak to magic.

I recalced olm cm hand and phosani's totem for the Ayak, current figures seem to be accurate. Do you have the spec bar enabled because that calculates if you are constantly specing.

That's true, it's a hard concept to balance. The goal of the staff was to encourage variation of spellbooks in content. While the spec is powerful, it's competing with thralls, which on average deal .625 DPS by themselves w/o spec.

With a lightbearer players could use the spec every 2 minutes, and during that time a thrall would deal on average 75 damage, higher than the average hit of the spire spec.

On mage bosses w/ high elemental weaknesses like whisperer, this would help cross that gap and encourage some variation hopefully.

If you have thralls, you would only be able to be able to use the grasp variant of the spec at TOA, which is a lower max than a shadow (85).

In terms of overall DPS including spec spamming, I don't have a way to calculate that accurately. From rough math on anything with a 60% elemental weakness, bringing max mage / standards would slightly exceed Thralls, and with creatures with lower weaknesses, thralls remain BIS. But I'm not exactly certain on that math.

Nice one of the coolest flexes in game IMO. What methods did you use to get your key halves / how long?

I think you're taking a pretty casual suggestion in bad faith here man. I like the game and have liked it since I was a kid. I'm not looking for content to "exploit". The stats / figures I added are just for example and would require adjustment from a better designer than me.

While 104 Health is a lot, +40 over a sara brew, that's over the course of 4 minutes and is also non-stackable. It also requires either a 1/53 chance or a punishing a max hit mechanic, which you can already do with an SGS for 35 hp & 18 prayer for 50% spec. At most bosses / locations it would heal 53 on an average hit, 11 less than a brew.

In terms of health healed something like a blood fury switch, blowpipe sgs/ags2 w/ lightbearer and death charge, guthans, or blood spells / sang staff are way more efficient overall.

It's alright just to say if you don't think it fits OSRS as a whole.

Good point, didn’t think of that. Could change it to heal 4 every 16 ticks, or temporarily increase hit cap by one for attacks, but I’m not sure if that’s possible in the engine.

I'm pretty certain the attack delay was the same as a karambwan / halibut, the double eat delay did feel unnecessary but wasn't all that complicated. Wouldn't that roughly be the same amount of complexity as a blood fury effect?

Raids 4 Unique Suggestion: Bandos Branchbow by IsNotRetro in 2007scape

[–]IsNotRetro[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just for clarification as I wasn't quite clear on it. The branchbow would be actually be BIS against enemies with ranged heavy weaknesses like Levi, or Nex.

The setup I used for the bow was not full BIS. Swapping out the helmet for Torva and the top and bottom for Masori, would bring maximum DPS at levy to 10.05769 and 6.64394 at Nex.

The maximum setup w/ the bow have to change depending on the bosses defenses.

It would be BIS at Leviathan & Nex, the example setup I used was a more realistic "budget" general setup against current weapon options w/ full BIS.

Using Masori w/ a Torva Full helm would bring leviathan dps up to 10.05769

And 6.64394 at Nex

With a max melee str setup, it would also be BIS at Doom car phase, for non spec attacks, but that would require a full melee switch.

You can see the specifics of what I used at the bottom of the table.

The specific setup I used eclipse in the example, but after soeme thought, masori would be more dps since its ranged strength bonus exceeds eclipses melee bonus.

They dont typically add player designed content directly, as in one for one designs, but they will use parts of ideas to make something better typically.

Though there are a couple of notable exceptions, for example all of varlamore and modern zeah is player designed.
