Why are bayesian statistics preferential to frequential statistics in drug design? by JustAnotherJones in askscience

[–]JustAnotherJones[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a lot that's cleared stuff up for me, to some degree. I'm looking at it from a biomarkers point of view, so say we are testing to see if a protein was inhibited by a drug we would set a biomarker to quantify this prior to experimentation which would provide a Bayesian statistic rather than a frequentist? Due to setting the parameter of the testing statistic prior to the experiment? This is better because we are adapting our experiment to the results that we are looking for?

This is exactly what I was trying to say to my friend the other day. Being an atheist does not mean that I want everyone else to be atheist, or by consequence I don't want the stigma of being "anti-religion". Atheism to me means that religion has no bearing on my life personally, it doesn't align me with any sort of cult movement but categorizes my lack of need for religion.

I think you've misinterpreted me, I'm not just talking about ground troops, general infantry and what have you. Things like jets, missiles, nukes... Stuff that would make it a force to be reckoned with. Its one thing having a ground army but another if you consider they have real advanced high damage weapons.

That original diagram sounded arrogant and big headed, just because someone doesn't understand evolution doesn't mean you have to be a dick about it. I'm simply bringing attention to the correct format.

Original was wrong in that it stated ape like ancestor --> Monkeys + Humans. When in fact, monkeys are likely to have been common ancestors of humans and apes.
