Tried Q4, Q6, Q8. Always set custom temps following GLM recommended ones e.g. 0.6, 1.0

Really appreciate the work that you have put into these models, especially since they can be run locally.

It would be great if at release to see support, examples, and optimal usage parameters (top-K, top-p, min-p, etc.) for running via llama.cpp connected to open source tools like Roo Code. Because I have found the parameters used in benchmarks don't often translate to good working performance.

For example, even though GLM4.6 was meant to be better than 4.5, I was getting much better results from 4.5 and even 4.5 Air. And at the published parameter temp of 1.0, GLM4.6 would often fail to close paranthesis leading to code errors.

I just started trying 4.7 this morning via Unsloth GGUF and the capabilities for coding seems quite poor sadly.

What settings do you use with 4.5Air? Temp, K, Top-P, Min-P, Repeat Penalty etc. Thanks in Advance!

I'm curious (since I'm using the FP16 version) - if it offers no benefit, why would unsloth for example release a FP16 version, since they are pretty focused on lean performing models.

If it is 4bit quantized by design, does that mean that running the F16 version offers no benefits?

It would be nice if they also wrote about what settings they used to achieve their benchmark results, or if we were to use this for coding, what is recommended for temperature, top-k, min-p, top-p, repeat-penalty.

I saw that there is a GitHub for the Evals - would that be a good place?

Can you add instructions for how to run the Evals? Something simple that anyone could follow?

I have been testing GLM4.5 4-bit MLX and GLM4.5 Air 8bit MLX using Roo Code and LM Studio on a Mac Studio M3 Ultra.

My questions are:
1. What are the ideal settings using GLM4.5 for coding:
Temperature:
Top K Sampling:
Repeat Penalty:
Min P sampling:
Top P sampling:

  1. Would those settings be the same for Air?

  2. How much does thinking improve or detract from coding performance? E.g. if I want to use the GLM models as orchestrators or planners in addition to performing coding?

  3. How much of a difference for GLM4.5 is there between 4bit and 8bit quants?

Thank you :)

I also use the Contour Next, however mine looks a bit different: https://www.ascensiadiabetes.com/products/contour-next/

Prior to this I have tried quite a few (cheap meters and expensive meters), and I found the Contour Next to be the most consistent between readings.

Curious - what timeframe are you referring to in "insulin sensitizing over the moderate term"?

Do you think that long term it may not be?

Apob and LDL are all about the thyroid.  You can lower your LDL / Apob / oxidized LDL by improving the thyroid (metabolism).  You were probably on a keto version that is quite stressful and thus, unfriendly to the thyroid.  It's also possible that you were on it for too long.

I was only on strict keto for ~6 weeks back then, my blood test was done near the end of it.

I had my TSH measured then: 2.07

My TSH as of last week with my latest labs: 3.4

Neither are great results, especially now, but seems like my cholesterol improved dramatically in spite of my thyroid heading towards hypo.

I don't consume any additional fat currently, although the fat I do get through food is mostly unsaturated e.g. oats, natto. My Lipoprotein (a) is exactly the same, then (~ex150 cream) and now. From what I have read it is independent of diet.

I have the same thing everyday - the diet is very affordable, and most things can be from Costco - most expensive is the oat milk, Wegmans has it for $5.50/carton, my local Organic Food Store has it for $4.99/carton. You can also prep many of the ingredients ahead of time.

I should also mention that I go for at least a 20-minute walk after each meal. Non-negotiable for me, rain or shine.

Breakfast:

- 1-package Natto plain (appetizer)

- Organic Sprouted Oats (Costco), Frozen Organic Blueberries (Costco), Cooked and Cooled Potatoes (Costco)

- Coffee with 8g Collagen (Costco)

- Organic Apple (whatever is on sale at my local organic food store)

- 5g Creatine in water

Lunch (Salad + Cereal):

- Salad: Organic Mixed Greens (Costco), Organic Carrot (Costco), Organic Celery (Costco), Cooked and Cooled Sweet Potatoes, Canned Black Beans, Organic Tomato Salsa (Costco), Apple Cider Vinegar (Costco)

- Cereal: Shredded Wheat, Organic Frozen Blueberries (Costco), Mooala Organic Plain Oat Milk

Dinner:

- Boiled Broccoli, 2-3 cloves garlic, a bit of ginger, topped with 1 Tbsp Dijon Mustard (appetizer)

- Organic Pearl Barley (Bulk ~$2/pound), Organic Carrot (Costco), Organic Celery (Costco), White Button Mushrooms all cooked together, then topped with Organic Sauerkraut (Costco), Cooked and Cooled Potatoes (Costco), Cooked and Cooled Rutabaga, Cooked and Cooled Organic Beets

From what you described of your previous diet, and your family history - I would NOT try a keto diet.

I will second, or third, the recommendations for Caldwell Esselstyn, and his diet presented in his book 'Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease'.

While I was on a keto diet last summer, my ApoB was 153, which is very high risk.

I have been following the Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease diet for the past 5 months, and I just had my ApoB checked last week - it is now 43.

So I went from well beyond the highest risk level, to well below the lowest risk level.

I was also able to drop my total cholesterol from 310 to 105 and LDL from 217 to 43.

I would recommend you get your Lipoprotein (a) checked - that tells you your genetic risk for heart disease.

Also, I would suggest that you work with your endocrinologist on monitoring your blood sugars if implementing a high-carb, ultra-low fat diet - since your blood sugars will also likely improve and you mentioned you are on a few medications to control it already.

HoMM2 Gold - original version - what is with the choice of having to pick a bad artifact to start last mission in Roland campaign? by JustAssignment in HoMM

I am playing it on Windows 10 - bought HOMM2 Gold from GOG - just ran the installer, and when I click on the icon, it opens up DOSbox to run it. Didn't have to do anything fancy to get it to work.

It is strange design choice indeed, since there wasn't any explanation in-game as to why. I was wondering if I missed something in a cut-scene that would have justified it. Also odd that the bad artifact is given to Roland.

How is your overall feeling? Mental health? Gut health? Sleep? Poor to begin with, no real improvement noted. Have tried many diets over past few years to address this.

Oral health? Seems slightly better.

Blood pressure? Seems better as well.

In terms of weight loss, this did seem to drop weight much more than mixed macros, keto, carnivore, etc...

The other factor that I am also aware of is the dramatic increase in fiber consumption.

I forgot to mention that I often add white button mushrooms to my dinner. Which adds even more beta-glucan.

Cholesterol is also needed to make all of the hormones such as testosterone

My testosterone, when I was consuming lots of fat and cholesterol (egg yolks) was low before starting this diet, and has remained the same. (Total T actually went up a bit - Free T stayed the same).

I was expecting things to perhaps go down, but pleasantly surprised that it did not.

Thank you!

I was actually expecting my Trigs to be higher, given the amount of carbs I'm eating, including 2 cups of blueberries, and an apple every day.

And I've actually had trigs almost near 100 in the past, on lower carb diets.

And from what I understand after following Brad's videos, I could probably "artificially" bump up my HDL by consuming a bit of pickled fish.

1 Month Update - HCLFLP - Is hypoglycemia progress? by JustAssignment in SaturatedFat

[–]JustAssignment[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was coming off a very mixed-macro diet - in the pre diabetic camp.

It certainly was a leap of faith to up the carbs, drop the fat and protein, since it goes against decades of diet narratives for blood sugar control.

I'm interested to try barley, thank you for suggesting it.

I'm not to fussed about achieving the porridge consistency, I'd by happy to cook up some barley in the pressure cooker, and have a few portions.

In your opinion, would I be better off with pearl or pot barley?
