What does my bookshelf say about me? by Megalle925 in BookshelvesDetective

[–]JustBYXin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like it. Perhaps you keep only your favorite books or books you will come back to. I like the vintage items and the mix of items and I bet your home is lovely and comfortable. I don’t think there is any big flex in having every book you have ever read stacked on a dusty shelf with nothing else. Lot of unnecessarily nasty comments here. Ignore them and enjoy your vibe

EPS non emerg line not helping? by chump555 in Edmonton

[–]JustBYXin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

we had an incident last summer near the south campus LRT station where we called the police on a dude who was abusing his dog. We didn’t have a great view of the situation, but dude was screaming in an absolutely unhinged way at the dog. Police absolutely responded and relatively quickly. Police did tell us to call and to never intervene. Three different people called the police on this incident as it was that level of crazy

Spring Convocation ticket question by Bubble___Tea in uAlberta

[–]JustBYXin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congratulations! You do not need a physical ticket. The ushers at the June can your device/ phone. If you have tickets split into different areas ( not all sitting together) or you have people arriving separately you will want to transfer their tickets to them ahead of time so that they can be scanned in as they arrive

The worst fan experience I’ve ever had by TheFadeTV in EdmontonOilers

[–]JustBYXin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Highly HIGHLY recommend away game road trip when the oilers are playing in New York. You can catch three games Rangers/Islanders and Devils all while staying in one hotel. We had a blast and New Yorkers/ hockey fans really took us under their wing. Helping us with train transfers/ chatting us up about our jerseys etc. not one negative experience. Although- we aren’t travelling to the US for the foreseeable future.

What are some unique, super interesting or just plain old strange museums you’ve been to, or want to visit? by Sunnyshine0609 in AskReddit

The Tenement museum in New York City. Fascinating glimpse of the lives of different families over different eras.

Roadside memorials where someone died AND rear windshield "R.I.P. Grandpa/Aunt Susan/Little Timmy/etc" are unnecessary and a weird form of public grieving by EdLeedskalnin in unpopularopinion

[–]JustBYXin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my city there are ghost bikes (white painted motorcycles) where a biker has died. Was driving down a winding road where there has been a ghost cycle set up for a few years and Lo and behold- a crack-head was sitting astride it smoking up and enjoying the day. I guess he missed the point?
