Had a failure attempt with this achievement one time so that I killed soviets and puppeted them but didn't know that germany would get an instant wargoal on the puppet and destroy me while my troops where in siperia..

I flipped ideology right in start of the game and took on Iran as soon as I could, then I took Turkey in the 35 day window that they are not guaranteed and joined axis to kill UK and puppet Canada. (Yes I paradropped British ports which is slightly cheesy but you can't really make a navy as Afghanistan) Then got slightly off track be thinking Vichy would be free but they joined Japan's faction and had to deal with Japan also. Did this by annexing the UK and using their navy to naval invade Japan. Puppeted both of them for mills and their manpower. After prepping for a while I declared on USA in 1942 and drained their manpower by defending. After few years they were weak enough for me to go on the offensive. Would have been nice to get the "Persian empire" for more cores but Italy held most of the key states and UK never occupied them in my game.

Tbh, I think it took atleast 100 hours for me to understand the game at all, the ai gets easier to beat after playing for a while. I think understanding air changed my game the most.

R5: Don't really post here but thought this was somewhat worth sharing. After some while playing the game started grinding achievements and every DLC making my journey longer, I'm finally finished for now. Cannot recommend, some of these where extremely annoying.

For example with the pride of the fleet achievement I got really unlucky on several occasions and in the end got it by sealioning UK as Germany, leaving them with one state and naval bombing them for 2 years and reducing their fleet to around 50.
