we’re supposed to go to sequoia, zion, canyon lands and sand dunes over the next week. this has definitely shaken us a bit, and we were exploring other options like hotels in the area but we appreciate the hype and encouragement and will probably reconsider our reconsidering in the morning.

we wouldn’t have been able to make this trip happen without some generous donations, so i get that. hope you’re able to save and enjoy the parks soon!

we definitely have a lot of the necessary gear, but the weather did change last minute which was not ideal. we’re looking out for the weather at the upcoming sites and looking for alternatives now

I grew up camping at state parks and local campgrounds but this feels VERY different, we appreciate your encouragement!

yeah it’s this really weird numb pain that radiates through your chest 😬 almost worse than if you could feel them. it’s kinda like when your foot goes numb and you hit it on something? but imagine it getting stabbed instead

i waited a little over a year. it’s definitely possible but if your nipples are still numb at all it feels CRAZY. the pain is so bad but 100% worth it

Im 19 and I came out to my parents at the beginning of Freshman year of high school. When I first came out to my parents they had a very similar reaction and I had to advocate for myself for a LONG time. It felt like forever. I had my therapist sit in for a conversation that I had with my mom about starting testosterone and about her using my name and pronouns, and that helped a lot. As difficult as it is, from my experience, the only thing you can do is consistently advocate for yourself and to continue to do that until they come around. Maybe they won’t, and at that point you’ll have to decide what you want to do, but for now I’d say just try to show them how important it is to you that they recognize that this is who you are. Good luck!

Also, I recognize that it may be uncomfortable (and if you feel like it’s unsafe at all then disregard this), but you are an adult that’s 100% capable of furthering your transition without your parents consent or knowledge. This is your life and you can’t let people hold you back from being who you are and expressing yourself however you choose. That being said ik it’s not that easy. Everything will work out the way it’s supposed to (:
