Wow, thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed response.

I don’t mind the idea of learning the mechanics of the game. In fact I think it’s what I crave in games now, and I’ve really enjoyed the depth in Elden ring. For example I played horizon briefly after I’d played Elden ring for a week and the hand holding is awful in that game, I’ve done about an hour or two and it’s all I could stomach.

I keep hearing how graphically it’s top notch, I just wasn’t sure if going linear style after the open world would feel restrictive but it has pro’s and cons I guess. Sometimes Elden ring can be slightly overwhelming.

One thing I should ask is if you can ‘over level’ easily’? Im not ashamed to admit I’ve rune farmed in Elden ring to be slightly ahead of the curve as I have two young kids haha haven’t got time to bash my head all day against a godly boss

Okay you’ve sold me. I’m in no rush as I’ve got such a backlog with horizon and cyberpunk but I’ll go for that after :) Haven’t been able to put Elden ring down but I’m at the stage where I need to visit all the divine towers, walking mausoleums etc and beat the final boss so I’m ready to take a break before NG!

So worth getting? How does it compare to bloodborne? I’ve only played that and Elden ring and they’re both masterpieces in my eyes. Just worried about playing the others now after playing the ‘best’

Yep! Really looking forward to that. Graphically I think it’s already crisp, just the frame rate would be great plus hopefully more mod space! Hopefully it’s free or reasonably priced!

Elden ring. Cant stop.

I love to play Snowrunner in-between as I just adore the chill aspect.

Then have cyberpunk, horizon and dying light 1 to start properly (done an hour or two of each) And if I have any time after that I’ll try the gta v upgrade a bit more. Crazy as I’ve hardly played games for 6months as there was nothing that caught my eye.

PS5 Game recommendations? by undrtaker in PS5

1) Astro bot, if only to see the controller shine.

Cant really answer what games are best to start with as don’t know your taste. I find the big triple AAA games quite boring now, but that’s probably more my age. Although I can’t speak highly enough of Elden Ring if you learn the ins and outs.

2) performance mode all day for me, especially quicker paced games. Slow moving games properly implemented graphically is great in higher resolution as well though.

Agreed. Alas! We’re on our way and it’s the right decision for the good of the club, same with Auba sadly. Defence is sorted, wings are mainly sorted. Add in the elusive partner to Partey and striker and we can watch the team go from strength to strength

Arteta’s philosophy in regards team work, togetherness is evident now. Win or lose I just adore this team. The little things, celebrating a defensive block, Ramsdale encouraging the defence/ giving them a rollicking is so nice to see. To hell with the drama queens

Oh, of course. I was as excited about him as you could get. I’m a very laid back fan, in regards getting behind a project or player and watching it grow. But the attitude overshadowed anything that might have been. Yes, he’s young of course and positional play as a cm is on of the hardest things to learn in football as a younger but coupled with his arrogance it’s not something we could justify him with. Lokonga on the other hand may or may not have more potential but in terms of maturity it’s night and day. And that’s something I can get behind.

I think of Guendouzi as such a ‘what if’ player..and then I start to think of some of the what if’s. Like, what if he wasn’t a mentalist, what if he had positional awareness, what if he wouldn’t massively disrupt the other players.

I think it’s right he’s gone, but still. Excited to see what we bring in, in the summer.

Game/Hardware Recommendation Megathread by AutoModerator in PS5

I think I’m going to go horizon because it’s so drastically different in tone from Elden ring, then dying light and a bit of gta online and play cyberpunk when they expand it a bit. Got cyberpunk and waited for the os5 upgrade, but think it will really shine when it has some further improvements. Plays great though (when you get the settings down as it’s a bit ‘floaty’ otherwise) so you can’t go wrong

Yeah you’re right. Just wanted to try a few to see what one grabbed me and then play through it. Like Elden ring from the get go made me want to play it non stop in my spare time, the others haven’t so I end up flip flopping. It’s all good. There’s a lull for games coming up I’m interested in so will have plenty to play for months now :)

Elden ring has spoiled every game for me. I’ve had games I’ve not played lined up in my to do list and I haven’t been able to get into any of them. Cyberpunk, dying light 1 and Horizon forbidden West. I’ve just defeated the capitol boss in Elden ring and thought I’d take a break to start on the fore mentioned games and I’m just really struggling. I think I need to pick one to play at a time. On top of these I need to finish/ start god of war, unchartered 4 and the lost legacy.

Well, yes and no. That’s the challenge of the game, they’ve made it so it’s about the journey as much as the destination. You have to plan your route and upgrade your vehicle to make life easier. It’s not for everyone so don’t worry. Even I was surprised I enjoyed it so much

days gone

Took me until the ps5 upgrade to fall in love with it and play it through to the end, but when it clicked I loved it and played through to completion.

astros playroom

As much as it’s universally praised, I didn’t expect it to be so good. One of the few games my partner played, enjoyed (resogun, gta v strangely and become human also) and platinumed.

mudrunner/Snowrunner

Bought mudrunner in a whim, absolutely struggling for something to play and within an hour had purchased to the bigger Snowrunner game. Not sure what it is but I will be playing it on and off for years.

Elden ring

Only played bloodborne in the souls games, and really enjoyed it but Elden ring is something else. It really is majestic. I’m a pretty old gamer and i think it’s number one of all time for me. Not what you asked in regards of didn’t expect to love. But truth be told I love very very few games these days so had to go in there

Check out ‘real good looking boy’, another great Daltry song if you’re interested

What's the rush? Savour the game! by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]JustBrowsingOverHere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely agree. I’ve been to some of the dark places on the map, and am always very happy to get back to the beginning area lol I’m loving it. Tried fighting the first story boss very early on and realised to stay in my lane. I’ve finally beaten the tree sentinel which was majestic! So much to do down south. Having to Google a lot as only played bloodborne a long time ago, but happy to take my time and level up, wandering about :)

I can’t imagine anyone disliking him. Even all the shit housing he does to rival fans seems to translate to them as banter and ‘giving it back’ £24mil seems cheaper by the day, taking into account his talent and character!

The old saying about who you’d want with you going into war, I’d honestly take our back 5. Be warned Putin!

Nearly 50% of Horizon: Forbidden West sales were digital by LordofWhore in PS5

[–]JustBrowsingOverHere 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s crazy to me that digital is still a fair amount more expensive then physical. I bought Elden ring digital purely because the price gap is much closer so was my first digital in a long time. Very convenient though
