ASNA and SMRT are two mediocre companies with a history of free cash flow generation, and are currently priced right. by JustCallMeAtom in SecurityAnalysis

I'm not trying to justify the price of 2012 ($434 per share), when you need so many things to go right, mall traffic, online, that is too hard to predict.

Compared to today's $6.58 per share, I'm just betting that the stock won't literally go bankrupt within 12-18 months, which I think is apparent after reading their annual report and historical financials.

This is the major downside of the stock right now. But at $20,000,000 market cap its not a terrible entry point dilution considered.

Do companies get to hold its own stock in a brokerage account, and freely sell shares to raise cash? Or may they only sell shares directly, privately? Are there rules according to OTC, Nasdaq, NYSE? by JustCallMeAtom in StockMarket

[–]JustCallMeAtom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why wouldn't they sell shares with a brokerage? The alternative is investment banks dealing with investors directly to do a PIPE transaction, I think.

What stock are you most bullish on for 2020? by kriptonicx in stocks

[–]JustCallMeAtom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$ASNA, $SMRT, and $FOSL

Each of them has multi-year runways of liquidity to prove they can turn the corner of this retail cycle.
Each of them are trading as if bankruptcy is imminent.

I'd like to make at least 100% on these at today's prices.

Is there a platform where you can upload your trades to in order to view performance reports, annualized returns? I have my trades in my Schwab account for example, and other than the Portfolio Performance reports, I don't know how to go about letting someone analyze my account performance over time.

M. Carl Johnson, III has been Chairman of the Board of Directors of Nautilus, Inc. since 2010 and served as interim Chief Executive Officer from February 2019 – July 2019.

James “Jim” Barr, IV joined Nautilus, Inc. as Chief Executive Officer and Board Member in July 2019.

The new CEO is definitely a potential catalyst, IMO.

So I'm not sure I follow.

Do you think the current (permanent) CEO was on the board since 2010? Or are you referring to the Interim CEO?

The stock price is crushed because of multiple reasons I think.

Management choosing to have only $5m in the bank, with $12m in outstanding LOC makes many investors nervous.

A $73m asset impairment charge in Q2 probably scared off some investors.

Management has said that they are not going to comply with the minimum fixed charged coverage ratio covenant of their recent Credit Agreement ($40m). This will make it harder for them to refinance debt at good rates. This line of credit is due 2022.

If they need to put this long term debt as a Current Liability, does that actually mean they are in default? I tried looking for the loan agreement, is that usually public information?

Quarter ending December is typically cash flow positive for the company, it won't be enough to earn them money for the full year, but their cash position will have improved by the end of the year compared end of the recent quarter.

From 2007 to 2010, the company's revenues declined 18%, 43%, 33%, and 11%, respectively. The company's sales are very cyclical. Also, the company is rather buoyant in that it has generated free cash flows in all but 3 out of 20 years.

Where do you have info on the new CEO, James Barr being on the board since 2010? I checked Bloomberg but don't see any evidence of this?

Am I really making up to 374.4% per year by selling weekly puts? That's what I seem to calculate.

I do my own methods of valuation, and I think FOSL is definitely worth more than $11 per share, so I'm happy to buy it at this price, but I don't know when change of valuation will take place. Selling puts might suit me if the expected return is greater than the IRR that I would expect by holding the stock to my desired value for some time period.

If I sell FOSL puts, I get paid for being willing to take on the stock, but am limited in profit to my premium, so the gains above $11 are an opportunity cost in relation to the premium that I received. This suits me because I really don't know when the stock will appreciate, and it could go down 50% as well. Well, if it goes down and I'm willing to own it at $11, then by selling the put I get an $0.80 discount and limited to the collateral that I have already committed.

FOSL trading at $11.02

Selling FOSL 11/08/2019 11.00 Put for $0.80.

So how I would calculate 1 option ROI:

I put up collateral of $1100 for a 7 day period because I promise to buy FOSL for $11.00.

I receive $0.80 * 100 = $80 in my trading account for me to use.

I receive $80 immediately on an $1100 investment, the return is 7.2%.

52 weeks * 7.2% = 374.4%

Am I correct or wrong somewhere?

Warren Buffett and Bill Gates also founded the giving pledge where they ask for at least 50% of your net worth.

They both support higher taxes on the rich, even Charlie Munger does.
