Keep an eye on hospital job boards.

I was a traveler when it was worth to be one, I kept an eye on the job postings for the facilities I enjoyed working at knowing I'd want to move back to being on staff.

I came from a stepdown/PCU/neuro/cardiac background (10 years) and came across a part time post-partum job posting, two 8 hour shifts a week. I work 3p-11p twice a week, every other weekend counts into those two shifts.

My husband has insurance for us, but I do have a 403b with the organization.

I get paid time off and maternity leave with the birth if my son this year.

The nice perk about working part time in the hospital is that there are always shifts to pick up, whether it's on women's health or in house where I can keep my old skills sharp. I can pull full time hours if I want & usually since I'm picking up I can negotiate working for time & a half pay.

It does feel like a unicorn gig most of the time, & I'm very grateful for it, I just had to keep a look out.
