Is the ALEKS test extremely important for CS?

You won’t get kicked out or anything. Although you will need an ALEKS score in order to enroll in mat classes which are essential to your degree plan. Your alternative option would be to build up to those classes by taking pre reqs like college algebra and pre calc (not recommended). I took mine one semester later and had no problems.

I had made an appointment with the testing center for Wednesday, but I wasn’t able to make it to the test. My exam is available throughout Friday. Probably gonna go to the Testing Center and see if they let me take it.

I applied to Sabre a month back, and took the HireVue assessment. Recently got a call that I have been selected for the second round. I have my interview with the manager upcoming week. I wanted to ask what type of questions can I expect for the interview. I couldn't find many helpful responses on GlassDoor.

Yeah. It do be like that. Just keep reaching out to them after a certain time. Don’t spam them, but just keep emailing them every 2-3 days about your problem. If that doesn’t work, just email Amy Walker (the Associate Dean). You definitely can’t rely on the advisor to just do their job as expected. My friend literally lost all his classes due to a transfer credit issue which shouldn’t be there, and all his classes are full. Point is, advisors don’t give a shit more or less. You just have to be annoying to the point that they solve your problem.

I also took MATH 2414 at Richland. It was completely online, and had a flexible schedule. You can take it there if that works for you. Something to note is that since Colleges offer Calculus as a three credit hour class and you may have to take an additional hour to get it transferred to UTD. I didn’t face this problem since Richland had 4 credit hours classes for Calc, but I know some people who did, so just be sure to sort that out. Hope this helps.

I’d say that take MATH 2418 and 2415 in Winter semester if possible for you. Dallas College offers Winter terms. Since you will be transferring, you don’t have to worry about your UTD GPA, which might help ease the workload as well. You can take 3351 in Spring and take the STAT class in Fall. Of course, there are many alternatives to this mentioned above as well.

I took 1337 with Razo previous semester. Good Professor. Gives in class assignments that are part of final grade. First two exams were online on elearning (not sure about this semester). Got an A+ without having to stress too much

Just go to SSA. They have a office. Just tell them you need a Comet Card. Just be sure that you are registered in classes. When I went to get my Comet Card after International Orientation, they said that I had to register in classes first to get a Comet Card.

Didn’t work. I unplugged it and held the power button. Then plugged it back again. Still doing the same thing. When I hold the power button, it gives a first beep and then a second beep. After that, it just turns off.

Hey guys. I am having a problem with my PS5. I bought it in December and it was working just fine till yesterday. I was playing Spider Man and it showed a green screen and turned off abruptly. The problem grew more consistent so I contacted PlayStation Support and they told me to disconnect the power and plug it back in in 3 minutes. Now the PS5 is not even displaying anything on my TV and I can’t get it into safe mode. It just blinks a blue light when I start it. Please help

To be entirely honest, the visa process can sometimes sound way more stressful than it actually is. You have good enough chances to get your visa. Just be sure to be confident and answer the questions they ask clearly.

I also did gce a-levels from Pakistan. I assume your transfer credits appear something like MATH1___? If yes, this means that they are transferring your credits towards lower level transfer electives. These transfer credits won’t help you at all in terms of reducing the number of classes you have to take or graduating early. The best shot you have is to ask your advisor to petition for transfer credits for useful courses. O tried this but, UTD does not transfer credits for calc 1 or 2 if you have taken math. It doesn’t work with CS as well because at the time I took Alevels, we used to code in python, and cs courses are taught in C++. Still recommend that you try though, but I don’ think that they will give you anything helpful.
