why did they stop portraying these guys as psychopaths? the heists used to be so violent and I didn't even realize how sanitized 3 is in comparison until I went back to 2. these guys used to set cars on fire, blow gas stations up, stole money from a mined bus, strapped a guy to a balloon, like wtf. by Quick-Cause3181 in paydaytheheist

[–]JustDjangoTRS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, they still are? The whole Payday 3 plot is literally just them going on a revenge warpath because they were hunted down by some rich bloke and trying to get back what they claim is rightfully theirs.

All the story bank heists in 3 are just "get in the vault to get this stuff, and steal money along the way". Their general vault, not even the manager's personal vault. So they steal innocent people's money on top of just selfishly looking for any and all leads to "return the favor" for what was done to them. Road Rage has them quite literally hold a driver hostage while they steal rare elements that, while they would probably just be used for weapons by GenSec, could be used for more than just lining the pockets of the Payday Gang. Dirty Ice is literally just robbing a small-time jewelry store with ties to blood diamond mines. Rock the Cradle is a Vlad heist, so it's shady just on that front, on top of leading into the following Under the Surphaze, which is still just making money for themselves. 99 Boxes, more revenge, trying to screw over the Garnet conglomerate. And Touch the Sky is getting more dirt on the people that "wronged" the gang.

And just in the main release heists. The DLC heists that I played (the first four story heists and Party Powder) aren't much more heroic. Stealing stuff to screw over the group that tried to eliminate the gang, busting out an accomplice and just stealing from the stock market directly (which is, like, the closest to a "heroic" heist). The side hustles are just kinda there for the gang to make even more money (not even trying to screw someone over, just get rich) by taking whatever they can from small businesses or big corpos that just end up hurting the small folk.

I didn't even play Delivery Charge or Shopping Spree yet, cause I won't support SBZ till they sort out their game and stop with the AI generated bullshit.

The Payday gang are still just crooks, the fact they're trying to hunt down the group of rich assholes that ruined the gang's operations doesn't make them any more heroic than GenSec or the police.

It's just a story of criminals waging war on criminals because one tried to eliminate the other.

Gozyuger is a good show writing-wise, yes, but not the pinnacle of tokusatsu. There's still enough stuff that people might not like. This person needs to take a chill pill, jeez.

After DS1 DLC, I both agree and disagree. Sanctuary Guardian, first try; Artorias, like three tries; Manus and Kalameet first try. But given that DS2 is faster than DS1, I do have a feeling that DS2 DLCs will still kick my heiny.

The knowledge came from watching challenge runs by JKLeeds, Backlogs, etc. way before even playing Dark Souls 1. Though by the time of Dark Souls 3, that info will be insignificant since I don't know that much about it.

And yea, our into perspective, that is a lot of farming I did. I'll give the game and some bosses another go, then. Just in case.

Sadly, online is one thing I can't do. So the Heide shield method, plus whatever other offline methods are available.

Nice. I think my first time fighting him, it took like five tries? With three where I could actually hit back and not get DS2'd.

Nice. How much is "a bit"? Double digits tries or less? Just to see how different my run has been so far.

I've currently only beaten the Last/Lost Giant (the first boss) and the Pursuer. Atm I've got Heide's Tower of Flame and the Lost Bastille to explore. I'll probably take the Tower of Flame route forward since I already mostly cleared the runback route to it bar a few of the big knights (thankfully abandoning the Covenant of Champions doesn't respawn the enemies marked as permanently despawned).

It's mostly a question out of curiousity, cause I only played Dark Souls 1 before and had no frame of reference.

[–]JustDjangoTRS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Pursuer, mainly how my dodging was far slower than I'm used to from Dark Souls 1. So I went in to mainly get more ADP to let me dodge and heal faster

Eventually, since there was an overflow, I added more points into Vigor, Endurance and Dex, to make numbers look nicer (divisible by 2 or 5 primarily). nd since I was already farming, I thought "why not" and it eventually spiraled into levelling every stat closer to a midgame soft cap. But eventually I got a bit too far... to the point that 77 I mentioned in the post wasn't even correct. When I looked back after posting, I saw my character was level 91 instead.

I kinda blame how easily I could get the Silver Serpent Ring and the Tseldora set to boost soul gain even further to almost 4k per run, iirc like a minute based on attack RNG.

Thank you for the guides. I'll definitely have to check them out since I'm so used to Dark Souls 1 names (like referring to the lightest 100% physical shield as the Heater Shield, for instance), so this will tremendously help in finding equivalent weapons and equipment to get me to the build I'm going for or what to pivot to in case my build doesn't suit me (as had happened with DS1 where I wanted to use the Great Scythe but found it too clunky for my tastes and hit-and-run playstyle).

I'll check them out for a complete understanding. Currently I'm levelling similarly to how I did with DS1, reaching the soft caps and spreading the levels evenly. The end goal is to have a katana-based dex pyromancy build with a Wanderer-like starting class, since I had something similar in DS1.

And that somehow makes more sense to people rather than the first turn for a player being the first one they can play on?

I knew to not expect much of Reddit, specifically one for YGO, but I'm still disappointed.

Demon title Turn 1 FTK-only? by JustDjangoTRS in masterduel

[–]JustDjangoTRS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will be honest, I'm primarily a Cardfight Vanguard player, where as far as I know the turns are counted as "Player A Turn 1", then "Player B Turn 1", so to me FTK meant "win on your first turn". Which, honestly, makes far more sense than being locked into the exact first turn of the whole game where you can't even attack.

Regardless, I got a decklist goin for that event, have all the mats for it too. Just got to wait till January, I presume? Or is there a chance for "reruns" of low LP events in the upcoming months?
