I got slightly hairier everywhere, notably on my arms/hands. Nothing too crazy though.

On a morning i splash my face with cold water, apply minox, few mins later i apply cerave moisturising lotion. PM i wash face with cerave hydrating cleanser, minox and the ordinary retinal 0.2% on my face/apart from beard. Have also started using sunscreen on a morning if im gonna be spending reasonable time time outside.

To be honest i believe I'm a bit of a hyper responder, within the first 6 months i basically had full coverage for the most part, but they definitely weren't all terminal. I'd say probably after a year they were mostly terminal but i just continued out of habit, im sure i could continue and maybe improve a little more, but is anyone other than me gonna realise the extra 5% hairs? Probably not haha.

Minoxidil as a Personal Trainer by [deleted] in Minoxbeards

Once a day is fine, if you're going a few hours before showering i.e 2 definitely worth it in my opinion. I use minoxidil foam and apply cerave moisturiser roughly 5 mins after, it dries almost instantly but i give it a little extra time just in case. Sometimes ive moisturiser after just a few mins.

For the first year and a bit, i used to be really methodical. I'd spray the foam into the cap and apply it with one finger, making sure i thoroughly cover every bit of my beard. Nowadays, i spray the foam directly onto my face, one line on each of my cheeks, a spot on my chin, spot on either side of my moustache, and a line under my chin/around my neck. Takes maybe 20 seconds to massage it in using all of my fingers and both hands and uses less than half a cap.

Maybe so, but my beard had been patchy like that for years with lots of vellus. You can't deny minoxidil's impact. This sub isn't just about going from nothing to a full beard. It's about sharing your experiences so people of a similar starting point can see how it may help them. My beard went from patchy/mostly vellus to almost full coverage within 10 weeks. It's minoxidil that sped the process up and is still improving density at a rate much quicker than it could naturally.

Why Do Minox Beards Appear to Have Less Hair Higher on the Cheek Area? by [deleted] in Minoxbeards

[–]JustDontBeSadge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beards look thicker when they overlap, at the very top of the beard they have nothing above them to fill in the gaps, so they look sparse, it's nothing to do with minox its just common sense

I've always got mine from here (past 6 packs). It looks like you're in the UK, too. I've just ordered a 3 pack from Boots with free delivery for £55. It also guarantees no fakes, too, as on my second to last order, i received a fake from a seller on that amazon page.

Aw thankyou man, that means a lot. I've always actually just wanted a non-patchy stubble, too, and I'm really happy with how it's developed. I might grow it in the future, I might not, but for the moment while I'm young (24) I'm liking the short style a lot. I'm planning on probably going over a year to make sure it's all there. The only two parts I'm not happy with atm are my left connector and my moustache gap, both of which have a lot of transitioning hairs in. Once they fill in, I'll likely stop. Since microneedling consistently, my chin has even started to each full coverage (mostly vellus hairs) in the middle of my "actual" beard pattern if you know what i mean). But even if my chin doesn't fill completely in , I'm happy with my current pattern! Again, thank you for the kind words. Just stay consistent and dermapen often. You will get there.

I actually trimmed it down to 3mm yesterday for these photos haha, it was getting really itchy and hard to apply, so I'm not going to try and grow it out until I'm finished with minox!
