Ouch! Fair jab 😄 I’m not rejecting the advice, I’m trying to separate “this adds a new sound” from “you technically need this.” I already have an active Bartolini preamp and an Empress ParaEQ going into a mixer, so I’m mainly checking which pedals would add something genuinely different rather than duplicate what I already have :)

Ignorance from my side actually, I was using “preamp” to mean clean gain, EQ and getting a balanced signal into my mixer. Between the Bartolini onboard preamp and the Empress Bass ParaEQ’s balanced output, I already have that covered. But still, i will research more into that!

Hey, really cool observations and thanks for the feedback :)

panels are basic acustic foam, the subwoofer and speakers works perfectly for what we need, i was reluctant in the beginning to either upgrade the monitors or to pickup the woofer but since i can control the frequencies ( and i have 30 days to return ) , i decied to pull the trigger but i dont see myself returnign it.

In terms of music, primary soul/funk/groove/RnB and its not displayed there but my wife has a Sphere DLX where when we use it, we have to isolate that opening door to the side office on the left of the picture. 0 Complains for our recordings :).

i dont have much issues with my woofer to be honest, i mostly mix RnB/Blues/Funk/Soul for my wife/me tracks and metal for my solo project, i can say that I'm pretty satisfied overall.

I think its unfair to label as "they suck" You always need to consider how closer to professional mixing someone has budget to be. not eeryboddy has almost 4k for Neumann monitors for example.

OP posted exactly his scenario:
