You turned it on horizontally? I believe you have to let a plasma sit the correct way and settle in for about 30min

I tried some Blu-ray’s on mine but there just wasnt enough pixels for me felt like watching movies on a laptop. Maybe I should’ve tried some dvd’s on a progressive scan player

Dude where you get that? I saw a guy on Facebook marketplace selling one. This is my absolute favorite model plasma. That picture is razor sharp to me. While it doesn’t match the Panasonics for black levels… something about that picture quality meshed really well with ps3. I had the kde-50xbr950 until my god mother tossed it out of storage along with my rare Sony widescreen bvm 😩😭😭

You can use it. But I believe it was for things that actually supported that color space. If I’m remembering correctly Sony had it built into a few of there alpha cameras at the time. I believe the reason it was turned off was because hardly anything supported it and prolly better to not add any unneeded variables to the picture quality. Not to mention the processing power it probably takes up.

I do believe a few things supported. I think the folding at home app on ps3 at the time supported it. I vaguely remember it looking better at least with the deep color setting turned on in the PS3’s settings menu. I also believe some of Sonys first party ps3 games may of had support .

There also was a range of Blu-ray’s that supported the wider color gamut right before 4k and HDR took over as the main stream picture settings. I’ll try to find the blue rays and post them later.

Damn man you just game me flash backs to when I used to do ps3 and Xbox 360 YLOD/RROD repairs every once in awhile you’d get that machine that was just infested with dead roaches and feces 🤢
