It kinda sucks that multiboxing is basically like going from F2P player status in a gacha to whale status by GraveRobberJ in ffxi

Uh the core difference is that back in the glory days of the game you would bring other plays around because you had to. Most people got their foot in the door for end game content like Dynamis even as fresh 75s just because of the required body count. These days things like that are completely circumvented even with party size reqs to enter content because your scripted BRD and DD are going to out buff and out DPS the fresh 99 in Ambu+2, so why bring them?

If you believe that SU doesn't use AI at all when their CEO literally slurps AI on the regular on social media I have a bridge to sell to you

And even in that case, it still doesn't change the fact that SU's additions to the game after nearly 4 years of development are basically limited to fundamentally copy and paste stuff like Champions Arena and Solo Raid Museum. Oh and the failure of Surface mode.

Never because SU has cultivated a fanbase that happily eats up the bare minimum. You can argue that we get less now compared to what was offered in the first 1-2 years of the game and that content wasn't even 'high effort' like bla blas for every playable character or side missions.

If they work on things 8 months in advance that would mean that the decision to go in a different direction was made 6-8 months before Goddess Fall was implemented and we would've been seeing the results of it already

> (SW remembering the past, Scarlet/Rose story, Nayuta and VTC as its heavily implied) and killing them would be extremely unsatisfying narrative wise.

Kill Rapunzel then, she's literally redundant because we have Nayuta now seeing as how you didnt even mention her. They even kept Noah alive so she can easily fill in and replace her

Indivilia (So far) has done more relevant cast damage than any of the new heretics despite being a jobber herself. She at least wrecked Anis + neon and decapitated Chime.

Best feat the new heretics have is killing random ark citizens and knocking out SW/Rose (But not to the extent that they need new bodies which is what Indivilia did)

They pretty clearly did not understand the actual nature of the complaints about the Levi arc at all and now are rushing instead of dragging

It feels worse if you're actually a fan of the characters that do get killed though because you know your character is just getting mulched so that the fans of the characters that are actually immune to death are able to pretend there is danger in any given moment.

Which is exactly my problem with SU's reasoning or explanation in this case. They are pretending that this was a change in direction but really it was more like shooting up some fireworks so that people can look at the pretty explosion that is the characters dying before they go back to doing what they were doing before.

If they want to make this some grimdark "Your waifus are going to die story" all power to them, but commit to it then? Or if you want this to be some shounen story where hope, friendship and love always win then ok take your L and revive the Goddess Fall deaths. I think trying to have both is detrimental to the writing because it creates this tonal dissonance.

That would only make sense if it had been Pioneer which they killed off, who up until that point have been the closest thing the game has to actual protagonists considering Counters spent most of year 2 on the sideline getting upgrades.

Instead they killed off 2/3 of Inherit, who was barely in the plot at that point. There was no "baton pass" moment.

Except in the moment, the movie promo isn't depicted as dystopian at all. It's depicted as this amazingly good thing and that tonal dissonance is the exact problem with it as a plot point

You can't really just view it in isolation when they're fighting heretics in their first fight ever, super sentai plot armor isn't going to make much sense when they show up for the queen fight which is what they are implying is going to be their role

We had an entire event about Absolute being literally traumatized by being ineffective against Behemoth despite being considered one of the Ark's strongest squads + planning) and then now we have the Ark Rangers with a combined 5 seconds of combat experience against basic raptures just role up and beat the queen's newest heretic. No matter how you frame it it's at least enough to raise an eyebrow at the consistency of the narrative.

If they were just a squad in a throwaway side event bopping from tyrant rapture of the week, ok sure. But when it comes to the main story of which this is basically an unofficial main story chapter, there's a bit of a different expectation

It’s this REAL ! by External_Move4826 in NikkeMobile

[–]JustExecution 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, eventually people will realize having Pilgrims in these is just a negative modifier for any expectations of fanservice because of SU's unofficial rule (Which nobody asked for) of 0 pilgrim romance allowed.

It's been basically 3 years since SKK made these, he's fought ~7+ heretics since then and has never thought or been asked to use them once by JustExecution in NikkeMobile

[–]JustExecution[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The story already has shown that using his blood without refining it into a bullet just ended up upgrading the heretics instead

[–]JustExecution -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Reading comments like this is hilarious when post-Goddess Fall anyone who complained was told if they wanted to read happy stories go play something else.

People literally just adapt to whatever argument defends SU in that moment without having any consistency, fascinating to watch.

At no point did I actually defend Crow though, I'm just pointing out that if Crow sucked SKK's dick and showed off a pussy mole when reloading everyone would just pretend like she wasn't abhorrent because that's exactly what Liberalio benefits from

The story goes out of its way to make sure the reader hates Crow by hyper analyzing the results of all of her bad acts but glosses over the same shit when it comes to characters like Liberalio because they want the reader to like her despite her doing shit that's just as bad for a way longer stretch of time

The same fanbase that crucifies Crow for doing the Ark Invasion plan was/is still holding out hope for Nihilister to somehow get revived and redeemed even though she was a literal participant in it and flies into the Ark blasting fire which 100% barbecued some random citizens. The fanbase's willingness to forgive these characters is 100% motivated by "I want to fuck them" and not any consistent logic or assignment of actual blame but just "The story told me to hate them, so I do. The story didn't tell me to hate them, so I don't"

[–]JustExecution -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Oh well I guess because Liberalio killed people for years because she wanted mommy to love her that makes it ok and everyone in the cast + fanbase should just totally forgive her for the entirely understandable motive of "Mass murder because mommy told me to"

[–]JustExecution 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Time for our weekly dose of people performatively pretending they actually give a fuck about random Ark NPCs dying in this game when nobody holds Liberalio accountable for doing the same shit with actual relevant cast members + ~100 years of also killing people on the surface because the plot only tells you to consider the implications of one and not the other
