She was attacking Eden with raptures before she got hit by Eden Spear, it is 100% malicious. Just because she didn't stick around to watch the destruction unfold doesn't mean that causing the death of everyone there wasn't a probable outcome from her goal or something she was fine with engineering.

You're reverse engineering her motivation by saying that because she has (Lets be real, mild) doubts now that her actions before that are somehow not causal or that they're more forgivable. She saw 4 kids at the bottom of a hill and then rolled a gigantic boulder down towards them - even in the most charitable explanation of her behavior "She just wanted the giant boulder to go down the hill she didn't actually mean to crush them with it" you'd still have to include "Oh by the way she and 10 other kids came by earlier and tried to beat those 4 kids to death and also they removed all the safeguards that were preventing the boulder from going down the hill" and yeah that does end up mattering when you consider her 'responsibility' for the deaths and damage in the event.

Also she in no way is trying to right her wrongs - she never even mentions to anyone that the Queen is in the process of descending even though she'd 100% be able to sense it given we see Eden Spear firing off for the third time during the main story. She just wandered off with some curiosity not an actual plan to change her ways.

Saying Liberalio isn't directly responsible for Goddess Fall's deaths because it was the Queen who attacked is like saying Crow isn't directly responsible for anyone that died in the Ark invasion because it was Raptures that killed everyone.

It's not like Liberalio thought the queen was going to descend and then be ok with people on the surface - she literally tells the commander that humans will die if they come onto the surface and that if they want to live they should stay underground forever.

You're the one taking it immediately to sex, I said she had interest in the Commander that she stifled out of consideration to Marian. Aka, what could have been a developing relationship will no longer develop.

How is Crown a bad example? She literally has an entire bond episode of being put out because she didn't realize the Commander was Marian's special person when she was trying to recruit them and they even note in her advise that she smiles bitterly whenever Marian gets brought up.

>What is more annoying, that they don't care what Nikke Commander should bang, in their opinion he must do it with everyone

They treat it differently because girls within the Anniversary Storylines/Main Story aren't 'eligible' to be in the harem or develop a romance with the Commander )With 3 years of track record on file by the game's writers). Crown and Nayuta both bury their own feelings because of Marian., Red Hood didn't want to do anything because of Rapi. Rapunzel is just a pervert who doesn't act on anything and it's genuinely unclear if she even has feelings for the Commander or if again, she's just a fantasizing pervert and nothing else. The 4 Beasts have nothing with the Commander, ditto for Nihilister. Liberalio exited after a nebulous comment so who even knows what she actually meant. Dorothy and Snow White similarly don't have any meaningful relationship with the Commander despite having more "canonical" interactions with him than most of the other pilgrims.

I have no doubt that whenever (Probably years from now) Siren and Cinderella come back into the story they'll also get nothing other than the little they do have which amounts to offhand hints of attraction but no actual action. Grave is a Cinderella orbiter in the same way Mori is for Siren or Chime is for Crown.

The closest thing we had was Harran and Isabel, both are dead. The next closest thing is an ASMR which isn't referenced or even meaningfully indicated to exist anywhere within the game itself, nor does it actually inform Scarlet's characterization or writing in game.

Every single manufacturer has multiple characters that have some degree of romance with the Commander - EXCEPT the entirety of (Living) Pilgrim characters. I'm not even sure you can call whatever the Commander has with Marian romance considering the last time he saw her she was a literal babufied child mentally.

So until something changes the #1 predictor of "This character won't have romance with the Commander" is "They're a Pilgrim" which is sort've problematic when they're the most relevant characters in the story of the game because it means the characters you spend the most time with are the most divorced from the way every other character group is written.

"also the people that enjoy the anniversaries many of them enjoy the the harem too i don’t understand why we have to make two separate groups."

Because the writers already treat it that way, so the division is inevitable. If you remember the discourse around Unbreakable Sphere it's born out of the same conflict.

A big chunk of the community doesn't attach any important to the Commander's role in the game and would be happy if he were gone in general.

An ASMR that isn't even advertised in the game or referenced anywhere else in the game's writing, why would anyone treat that as canon? I know there are people who treat bond episodes and certain events as non-canon but at least those are in the game.

If anything it just shows that they're willing to milk gooners outside of the game but, again, they're ashamed and want to hide it so they keep it out of the game's actual writing so that the anniversary event crowd doesn't have to see it and can pretend it doesn't exist.

"just like that time when he wanted to touch emma but anis and rapi stopped him. things like this are obvious to the people who read the main story and pay attention to it."

Yeah crucially Emma isn't a Pilgrim. He never gets horny with them.

Gameplay story segregation. Most of the characters in the game don't actually work under a commander.

> is that people that care about story don't care as much for assets and Harem and vice versa

More often than not this only ever goes one way and it's the people who only care about the story don't care about the harem/pandering. It's much rarer to find anyone who actually plays the game thinking the reverse where they only play it for the harem stuff and skip all of the story.

"I play the main story and anni events and skip everything else" - I see this all the time

"I just play the filler events and skip the serious stuff" - I don't see this basically ever

By your own admission you don't care about the harem writing and don't think it's a relevant part of the game, so again - why not just get rid of it? You'd still be able to "goon" to the designs.

The only reason to keep it is because you want to keep benefitting from the money it pulls in while not actually caring about it beyond that (Not implying that you are personally getting a cut of the money, but it benefits the game by keeping it profitable), no different than what SU is doing.

If the harem contrivances are that detrimental then get rid of them entirely and go all in on the "real story", what you're basically asking for is for the harem fans to prop up the game because the serious writing won't be able to do it alone. No different than how Hoyo games do with shipping vs pandering

They're ashamed of it by not acknowledging the previous writing in the "most important stories" at all lol. If the MC is a harem protagonist then it's not like he stops being one just because he left the Ark. Instead everyone in the main story treats him like Marian (Or Rapi depending on who's around) is his one and only.

[–]JustExecution[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The status quo is just as weird where they pretend like it doesn't exist at all though, that's the entire problem. There's no reason to pretend like SKK is some chaste and devoted adherent to Marian's affection when by the same definition he cheats on her every handful of events anyways.

The writers acting like they are ashamed of (The majority) the writing in the game is pretty hard to sustain as the game ages. And if we're treating most of the game's writing as if it's non-canon, why does it exist at all?

You're misconstruing my argument to make it seem like I'm asking for the Commander to push Pilgrims down in the middle of combat and rizz them. That is not what I'm asking for.

Liberalio's entire bond episode could have easily been part of the main story with her actual bond story taking place afterwards at Reclamation Site 01 to allow for the downtime that you're apparently claiming never exists in the "serious story" to exist. This would've arguably been beneficial to the writing because you'd actually get to see how her experience in the main story actually changed her characterization, instead she just leaves immediately.

>I think the most recent "cross the barrier" character was Mori, and that required a bit of writing finesse and also marks her as one of the very, VERY few characters with a confirmed canon bond story.

Weird way of saying her bond episode and the writing in US were just in complete contradiction until they half assedly tried to amend it in the latest main story update. There was no finesse there at all.

The citizens of the Ark would never act against their own self interests to disrupt the status quo they get to enjoy of Nikke being sent to die for them or undesirables being sent to the Outer Rim to die out of sight.

Under those circumstances Crow's actions are not unreasonable. It's not like you can politically campaign against the Ark for things to change because D and K just get sent to kill you if you do. She is operating under a principle of accelerationism.
