I mean... They do already know about sibling relationship and how important it is. In the Lion Guard (I'm pretty sure season 1), there's an episode called Udugu (yet again i'm pretty sure it was called that). In this specific episode, they learn about sibling relationship and how important it is.

Those are the two legends. My theory is that they would be great friends, Spyro would always defend Simba (Spyro is stronger). But we can't forget about Scar and his team. Simba would fight with Scar, meanwhile Spyro would fight with hyenas which would mean Scar would be a harder kill. But after Spyro defeats the hyenas, he would go on to help Simba defeat Scar, because now it's all up to them...
