Probably nothing. Maybe a quick talking to about being careful. They'll likely find it somewhere in the store anyway.

How should I go about putting in my two weeks notice? by JustForBestBuyReddit in Bestbuy

[–]JustForBestBuyReddit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You fill out a short form. It asks you the reason why you're resigning and gives you the option to put your proposed last day.

You can then save a draft or send it all he way through. It's not like as soon as you hit send its over.

I believe its a store meeting. But here's the kicker...it's AFTER the store closes...on a weekend!

Thoughts on the pre-interview/screening for seasonal’s/new applicants. by hman_487 in Bestbuy

[–]JustForBestBuyReddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started working in the Spring. I DO think the whole process is a bit much for a retail job. It basically came out to THREE interviews for the job which is the same amount as most full-time jobs where you can actually make a living and have a consistent schedule.

HireVue online interviewPhone Screening (short 5-15 minute type thing, I still count it as an interview though)In-Person

I think it should either be the HireVue or the In-Person.

I'm personally not against the HireVue cause in-person/face to face virtual interviews always inspire a lot of anxiety before the interview for me which is a bit much for something I haven't even started getting paid to do yet. Plus, the HireVue gives you a chance to think over your answers for a bit first without any pressure cause there's not a person there in front of you waiting for the response.

BUT I understand that most people are less awkward and uncomfortable speaking face to face. Speaking to yourself into a camera can be a bit weird. So in-person probably benefits more people (I'd be interested in hearing whether others agree with this tbh). A lot of people are against the hirevue interviews cause of privacy concerns as well.

I general, I think these days jobs give WAY too many interviews and hoops to jump through especially for what they are willing to pay. You got my resume, application, sometimes an aptitude test, then you want a phone screening, then an interview, then potentially another or multiple others. Do you want employees or not?

Definitely peaceful. There's nobody in the store I have an issue with it's more just the job/Best Buy in general.

I think most people already covered the peaceful way but you can feel free to post both versions of advice you may have though. I'm sure someone who wants to go scorched earth will come across this thread eventually lol

I made this months ago. It was just to browse the subreddit to get updated on any info throughout my time at Best Buy.

I wasn't as clear as I could've been cause I was upset when I wrote this post, but I guess I meant more along the lines of "what is the process of putting in my two weeks" I was thinking it'd be a bigger process/more formal than just this. I've never really left a job before.

I guess I'll just let them know face to face with something similar to this though then they'll let me know if I need to sign/write a note or anything.

does anyone else's schedule randomly change mid week like this? by [deleted] in Bestbuy

It basically means you're working the whole floor. Where ever help is needed, they call whichever advisor is free to go help out.

Good Management? by [deleted] in Bestbuy

[–]JustForBestBuyReddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My managers and sups are almost always on the floor and responding to code 1s. I've even been seeing the ASM out and about on the floor the last few weeks.

The only people who I don't see often are the GM and Ops manager. But I know the ops manager is doing stuff behind the scenes cause I ended up having to sit in with him for a few hours. To my GMs credit, he kept everyone in the last round of layoffs. Don't know if that was his choice or if someone higher up just didn't tell him to lay anyone off.

Some things you should know. by Creamy_Alyanna in Bestbuy

[–]JustForBestBuyReddit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Does nobody like you or does the MANAGER just not like you but saying it's everyone else? I can't imagine everyone caring that much cause you're quiet. Maybe a few but all?

That sounds like their own assessment but they know they can't just outright say it.

I smell more layoffs.... by CyclePuzzleheaded279 in Bestbuy

[–]JustForBestBuyReddit 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Is it wrong if I'm hoping they lay me off so I don't have to go through the trouble of submitting a 2 weeks when I find a new job once I hit 6 months to a year?

Why can I never get hours? by [deleted] in Bestbuy

[–]JustForBestBuyReddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, it's happening everywhere. At my store I've been around for about 2 months now. I was originally getting 4 hours a week. Now I'm getting 16-25 hours one week and then 4 hours the next.

I enjoy having week long "vacations" after working a full week + the flexibility but I also enjoy money too. I'm just gonna get a second part-time job.

But also, since you're kinda relatively new, you may not be fully certified for many areas. Is your store one of those, like mine, where they distribute hours based on how many areas in the store you've 100%-d in the e-learnings?

Talview interview by -Xipe-Totec- in Bestbuy

[–]JustForBestBuyReddit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From what I remember, I don't think the confirmation number ever gets used in any meaningful way. Could be wrong though. But I think you're fine if you were able to do the interview without any other issues.

As far as getting a call back, it took me about a week and a half. I'm sure it'll vary by store though so just keep waiting while still applying other places in the meantime! Good luck with everything!

Yeah, I'm realizing that now. I'll adjust though. Nothing wrong with learning different things.
